I've seen it said that some post by the author of the thread. If it's someone they like, they will post. I post the same as I choose which books to buy. If a subject seems of interest, I'll post on it. I never choose by authors alone. If I notice that some usually have good threads going, that may prompt me to at least look, but like authors of books, sometimes they choose a dud subject and content, that is of no interest to me.

To be quite honest, I don't usually even notice who a thread is by, until I've posted on it. Some get very personal with it, but I choose to keep it impersonal and just post to the subject. How do you choose? And do you really say how you feel, or do you just try to say what is expected of you?

I post to whatever threads sound interesting, or fun.. not by who started it.. Say what you feel, but not in a hurtful way towards somebody else.

The author of a thread is not that important to me, I look at the topic, if it doesn't interest me, I pass it by. And no, I don't post what others might think I should, but what I honestly feel, from the heart.

There is alot of that going on here Idy! Thats why there has always been what is known by some as the inner circle. I know that I will get jumped on for even saying it.
I said it a few weeks ago when I stated what this place needed was some new blood (so to speak) and we got it. 50+ has never been better. Welcome to all the newbies. You have breathed new life into a place that really needed it.

I try to read most of the subjects but I only post on those that either I can relate to or that I find interesting. I don't notice who started a thread, just the subject and the comments made by others.

Hi ldy...well, for me it's more or less the subject line for starters - if it's something that sounds interesting and/or fun I'll read the initial post and try and follow down to subsequent posts, reading as much of each one as I can, and then if I feel like commenting on the thread I will - and I certainly will be honest about what I say and will try my best to watch what I say (keeping it as impersonal as possible) and how I say it (spell-checker not-withstanding....). Even if the subject line doesn't really sound interesting to me I will usually look at the first (initial) post to see exactly what the person is saying/asking and then decide from there whether I want to respond to it. Being pretty new here I haven't formed any opinions (yet?) as to who I want to read threads from and who I don't - everyone has their own reasons for posting a thread - good or bad, and more often than not it's at least something that will allow everyone to submit their point of view/ feelings about it, which is great - and is, as far as I'm concerned - what forum's are all about...
Thanks for the thread..

I post on threads that interest me in some way. I always post how I feel about a topic, sometimes with seriousness and at other times a little humor.

I'm not sure, exactly... it seems to be somewhat "organic"... yet, somewhat "metaphysical"...

post long or off the wall dumb stuff I will not go lol.Sometimes I think some people just post to post something.. Whether it is interesting or just gets them the attention they are looking for lol

I post on threads that capture my interest whether the subject matter is serious or humorous. Who starts the thread is irrelevant to me. At times, I will refrain from posting on certain threads if I think my opinion would be too controversial for some others. Other times I do post my opinion with full awareness that it may or may not be well taken.

I discount the whining of some about an inner circle and just try to enjoy the site and all the great folks here. Our different outlooks are part of what makes this a great site to visit.

Good thread!

Leila

I guess I am not allowed a point of view without being called a whiner. I was simply trying to give my point of view. If you don't like my point of view don't respond. This has been an argument free place lately. I think the last thing everyone wants is the name calling to open it all up.

Well Defensive, you just proved my point. The comment is not aimed at you. A number of people have commented in the past about a ficticious inner circle. Just like you, I posted my opinion. You don't like my opinion and you disagree. You said, that if I don't like your opinion, don't respond. Last time I checked, most people here agreed that we're all free to post our opinions whether we agree or not. So... if you only want an "inner circle" that agrees with you, please know that I choose not to join it.

You're free to keep holding on to that inner circle... it's your thing. Not mine. And oh, by the way, I didn't call you a whiner. I mentioned whining (a verb) not a noun.

Have a blessed day,
Leila

Since I am a *newbie* ..I must say that I reply or post by what the thread is about. Not by who posts it. Sounds like biased or being childish if you see who posts something and won't even look at what they have typed or posted. Unlesssssssssss the poster is known to be nothing but a trouble maker. I have noticed something though. Since I am a newbie..lots of times the ones I presume that have been here longer...don't post to my threads. Not that it bothers me or anything..I could care less. Buttttttt when I post a thread..it is usually for all to read and not even going to prohibit someone from speaking their mind on it.

Just my humble opinion!

Smiles,

Sherri
