I love the thread about what made us smile today. That made me think about this. If you picture throwing a small rock or pebble into a lake it creates a ripple effect. The same is true in our lives...our actions, what we do, what we say..etc....There are people watching our lives friends and family and those we may not even know are paying attention to our lives.
We are either a positive or a negative influence. There is enough negative in the world. I love to smile and I think it's good to be reminded of good and positive things. We don't get that on the news! So....my thought for this thread is..we have talked about and I love how we post what makes us smile.
My question is...in what way or what form have you been a positive influence in someone else's life today? The ripple effect.....how were you a positive influence? Or, what can you do to be a positive influence today in someone's life? What can do you or say etc to make "them" smile?
For me....
1. Tomorrow I'm making time to call 2 brothers and my grandma I have not talked to in a while.
2. I'm going to make time to write that letter to a good friend I have been wanting to write in a while.
These are my to do's for tomorrow.
Today, I talked to my mom on the phone and told her I loved her.

Today I smiled when I gave a small gift to a friend of mine and it was well received. Talk about your ripple effect.

thats great. thats one of the things i love to do on the day each year that my brother passed away. somehow over the years that has helped me hold on to the memories of him and carry him in my heart. he always had a smile and helped people like i like to. so somehow me doing something for friends or family on the day of his passing and on what would have been his birthday every year (august 3 and sept 6)..somehow that helps me...i dont usually even tell them but i smile inside even through some tears as i give them a gift or make something for them to let them know i love them. somehow...its not just giving of myself and appreciating the friends and family in my life...and sometimes reaching out and befriending someone i dont know...somehow its not only just from me but from deep down inside my heart its from my brother some too. somehow...i carry his smile with mine and i live for him.
i guess along with this thread what all i have been through in my life has made me stronger, deepened my faith and made me more thankful and i want to make a difference in this world with my life....and sometimes just giving someone else even a smile makes their day. i love to smile, thats my personality.
i remember being at a former job and didnt know it at the time just was working and one lady told me later that my smile was at the perfect time and got her through the day...
