According to scientist, nothing is still something, kinds gives you a headache just thinking about it. Don't get me wrong, I don't go along with Genesis but something had to start it all, what.

Is "that" really important? Will, whatever it is, be changed? Can it be replicated? .....

There are several theories as to what started it all.
Everything from the big bang theory to the colission of
two universes that created a third (ours) in M-Brane theory.
If Christianinty want to believe that's a "Gotcha" in that we don't
really know, and make the claim that we don't really know,
That's OK.
You see, even amongst other religions, there are several versions of creation.
Christianity's version isn't the only version of creation tied to religion.
(They just want to believe theirs is the only "valid" belief system.)
So when it comes right down to it, no one knows absolutely.

Right on Muldoon, this is a question that we can't really answer for sure but I believe it's fun to talk about from a religious, philosophical, or scientific view. Take your pick. I also believe the more we discuss creation intelligently, the more we need to know about cosmology and theoretical physics. I'm not smart enough to understand all of it or even a little of it, but what little I do understand makes it fascinating. And hey, what's really great, you can go out on a limb with your own theory. Whose going to prove you wrong?

If you're intersted in some of the theoretical physics, I'd
recommend "Fabric of the Cosmos" by Brian Greene.
I'd also recommend stopping by the drugstore for an extra-lage bottle
of aspirin on your way home from the bookstore. You'll need it.

My own idea is "why does it have to be created"
This is just my idea and I can't prove any thing one way or the otherhand I can't rule any thing out.

Matter can't be created or destroyed. There has always been the same amount of "something" and the rest has always been nothing. The only thing that changes is form. Given that eternity is a long time and the universe a big place one would expect that anything that is possible will eventually happen. Our existence is really no big
deal.

What if nothing started it all but instead it was always there?

Because we are unable to resolve light from more than 14 Billion Light Years away (14 Billion years ago)we don't even know if we are looking at the whole universe. It is only in the past few years that we have even gotten an idea of how the universe is structured in the area around us.
I equate us trying to figure out the universe with what we know about it to people trying to figure out an elephant by examining the tip of it's trunk.
