It seems like this year I haven't heard much about Fat Tuesday/
Ash Wednesday.
So are there any plans for celebrating?
And what Lenten "fast" are you going to observe?

No celebrating here. As much as I would love to, I'm just too tired and have to get up too early for work to do anything.
As for lent, I'm not at all religious, so I just ignore it.

Will you explain the whole thing to me so I can understand it better. Is this Fat Tuesday something people do before lent starts? When does all this start on Good Friday? I was just wondering about all this. Is it primarliy something that catholics do? Just was wondering it you don't mind. Is that Fat Tuesday something people do before that Ash Wednesday?

Definition: Fat Tuesday is the traditional name for the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. It is more commonly known as Mardi Gras, which is simply Fat Tuesday in French. It gets its name from the custom, in many Catholic countries, of marking the day with feasting before the fasting season of Lent begins.

Although I am not catholic,(and other demominations also observe this) Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday; which is the season of Lent. Some practice "Fasting" during Lent and use Fat Tuesday as the day to use up those foods they plan to give up during Lent.
Fasting during Lent can also be giving up other things and replacing them with time spend reading the Bible or praying.

No real answer. Thought it meant eating fish. Can be anything from not eating to a meal a day or giving up something you like. Guess I will not worry about it. Already giving up something I like.

Speaking from the Catholic perspective... Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which is when you get ashes on your forehead in the form of a cross, ashes to ashes, dust to dust, which is what the body turns into.
It used to be no meat on Fridays, and you were to give up some food/drink that you really enjoy. It was the idea of the sacrifice that would better help the idividual understand that Jesus gave his life for you. Which by the way is a bit much for children to comprehend. It was taught to us in Catholic grade schools that Jesus fasted for 40 days (Now we all now that's not really possible), so we shouldn't complain about about giving up something...
The time of lent is filled with rituals that are practiced by many. For example, Holy Thursday, the Thursday before Easter, the priest gets his feet blessed and washed in church.
Growing up Catholic, I'd never heard of Mardi Gras until my teens. My guess it was frowned upon as being a day of gluttony. I hope this helped you!!
