In a nutshell, I'm a 30 year old man who sees life both as an adventure and to a certain extent, as a work to be accomplished. I am interested in somebody who is both eager to see the world, get the most out of life, who has a sense of adventure and curiosity, but is also willing to eventually dedicate the time to start and raise a family. I am seeking a woman who does not see these things as being mutually exclusive.
I am seeking a woman who is fairly independent. Not as in "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle" independent, rather somebody who has it together enough to not wallow in self-pity whenever they're not in a relationship. I'm looking for somebody whose happiness does not *depend* entirely on somebody else, but is rather augmented by them. Having your own friends is a huge plus. Continuing to do things with them even when you're in a relationship is an even bigger plus. Don't get me wrong, I dream of meeting that special somebody whose companionship I will come to absolutely cherish and treasure, but I think it's just healthy to have that balance, to not let one single person become 100% of your life, even after you get married. In other words, I'm not looking for somebody who is co-dependent.
I have been single for awhile now, and am used to it enough to be reasonably content doing my own thing. However, I've come to realize that almost everything I love to do would be so much more special, so much more fun - in the company of a special someone, whose company I would cherish and with whom I'd love to share life's greatest adventures. There's SO much I'd love to share...care to join me?
I'm not afraid to admit that I love romance, but in some ways, perhaps my idea of it is unorthodox at times. I'm not into nauseating displays of public affection, but I won't be afraid to hold your hand in public, in fact I'd enjoy that, nor will I be too macho to tell you I love you in front of my friends (assuming I do!). I absolutely love a nice intimate dinner, over an inspiring bottle of wine, under dim light and the whole works. I live in a very small apartment right now though, so for now, we'd have to settle for doing that in a nice restaurant, but luckily, I love trying new ones out! I love road trips and weekend getaways. But I also think that camping together in a scenic, secluded location can be among the most romantic things there is. I'm always willing to try new things, too, so if you have some favorite things you'd like to share with another rather than do by yourself, I'm all ears!
I love the outdoors, though I don't want to give the impression of being one-dimensional. I also like staying in if it's for the right reason. I enjoy movie nights and game nights. I also like going out, but for the most part, I like more laid-back, low key scenes. I thoroughly enjoy human company, and am an extrovert in that sense, but I like it more when the crowds are small-medium in size, and the settings more intimate. Pubs, music clubs that have live bands, concerts, an occasional play...those things appeal to me far more than dance clubs, which aren't my scene at all. Very rare is the occasion that I turn down an invitation to go out for a beer or to grab dinner.
Well, I suppose that's enough to give you a very general impression of what I like, and what I'm looking for.
