I am an avid outdoorsman. I spend a majority of my life outside. Whether it is hiking, backpacking, camping, kayaking, fishing or hunting I can be found more often then not, outside. I've spent the last 10 years of my life learning how to do live outside, all of which started in scouting. I like to cook for my friends, though truth be told I am a better baker then a chef. It is from the years spent in my grandmother's kitchen.
On rainy days I can be found either outside somewhere rambling about or in Webster's cafe downtown enjoying a book. I spend a lot of my free time in Rothrock state forest. Then there is also the place that I work, Shaver's Creek Environmental Center. I don't think anybody could enjoy their job as much as I. I take care of all the hawks, owls, and reptiles at the center. I also teach the occasional program or two. My summer's are spent in the Delaware Water National Recreation Area as Park Ranger. I mostly teach people about nature in the park and spend the rest of my time hiking around. My career aspirations are great but not that great at the same time. All I want to do is to be able to teach children about nature and try to get them outside more and inside less. It could either be with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the National Park Service or a small nature center.
The perfect match for me would be someone who wouldn't mind being outside. Someone who could backpack, or is at least willing to learn and try. Someone who is just as interested as I in learning about the world around us.
