Well, let's see... typically I am quiet until I get to know someone. However, once I feel comfortable it only takes me a "blink" to blend in. I have a tendency to be outspoken regarding certain issues and must admit that on occasion it causes me a little trouble. There are some things in my life that I remain very passionate about. I won't go into detail here but will save those topics for the right time.
I was married for a number of years and while the relationship had a sad ending it was not destructive. Those years taught me a lot about relationships and I have had many years to put it into perspective. I will always have respect and gratitude to my ex-husband for all that he did and for who I became. If that is a problem for anyone then I am probably not a person you want to know. I don't believe all ex's have to be enemies and find most of those post marriage wars very immature. On a lighter topic, I believe that there is someone out there that would be great to spend time with.
I joined another online dating service and participated for 6 months. All I can honestly say about that experience was I should have just thrown my money out the window while driving down a road.
For many years I dreamed of living in the Florida Keys. Following my divorce I worked and saved trying to get there. With a little help from my friends and family I finally made it. Unfortunately, I was only able to live there for 6 months and had to return for family/health reasons. I lived in Marathon Key. For anyone who doesn't know the layout of the Keys, Marathon is the half-way point between Key Largo and Key West. It is where the famous 7 Mild Bridge is located. My hope is to return again some day and be able to stay but that is way down the line and not an active idea in my life right now.
Whoever you are....you must be an animal lover or we will clash. I believe they are gifts to us for love and companionship. Unfortunately there are many people out there who think they don't have feelings and treat them in that exact manner. This is wrong and cruel.....so I spend quite a bit of time and money working toward rescues.
If you read the list along side the profile you will see that I am a smoker. I bring this up because I have found that it is very difficult for a non-smoker to tolerate a smoker. I will be honest and say that I do not exercise on a regular basis. Not that there is anything wrong with it but some do obssess with fittness and diet and I'm not a bit interested in making that part of my lifestyle. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy many activities, but I enjoy curling up in front of the TV with take out food and watching a good movie. On a physical level, I believe there is more to a person than what is captured by the camera. We must look INTO someone to truely know who they are. If we are only looking AT them then we know nothing. When I was younger I was like everyone else I knew and had a shallow side. As I get older I see how I probably missed out on really getting to know people. Taking time to talk is so very important, and I am not just referring to a favorite food or favorite color. If I learned anything from my failed marriage it is that communication and honesty must be a the fore front of everything. If you have taken the time to read this far then I should say this...I believe there is so much more to a relationship than the physical aspect. Not that it isn't important but it's not the most important. I have found that for some reason men need to prove (regardless the age) that they "still have it". Well, that fine, but can you be just as happy doing other things that help build a strong relationshp? There is a myth that if the physical is good then everything else will work it's self out. WRONG.....without the friendship, companionship, trust and respect there is no point. Lets face it, most anyone can get laid but where does that leave you afterward????....perhaps back reading more profiles???? Just something to think about.

When dealing with the internet all you really know about someone is what they want you to know. It's easy to hide behind these screens. So, taking the time to chat is a great way to start.
I am looking forward to making new friends and who knows perhaps meeting a special person. Only time will tell.
