Hi, my name is Monique and I have to say I love being single. I know that is an odd thing to say on a dating site but it is true. I enjoy life, my family and have not felt the need to rush into anything I would later regret. I am here mainly because I am curious what is out there and while looking for a sheltie puppy for Christmas for my daughter, I ran into this site and decided to try it out.
I guess I believe in the Greek philosophy of two halves of a soul meeting and realizing that they complete each other. Because of that I have never been in a longterm relationship. The couples I know that have lasted forever say they knew it almost instantly that the other was the one and I hope I will know it too within the first few dates but so far nothing. It is sort of cool if you look at it like I do... my future mate will know he is the first man I have ever truly loved, that I wasn't one of those girls who fell in and out of love for the sake of being in love or because I didn't like being alone.
What I am looking for is someone who is easy going, has a good heart, loves their family as I love mine, and enjoys doing family things. I like men who educate themselves and enjoy it. I am not a jealous person and do not like that trait in a person. I am mostly liberal but am able to accept all ways of seeing the world as a lot of my friends and family are very conservative and on some issues so am I. I guess what is most important to me is feeling that spark. Everything else can be worked on or talked about but the spark needs to be there from the get go.
