About Me
First and foremost, I am a mom. My children are my world and take precedence over anything else. (This may seem trivial, but you’d be surprised.) They are amazing kids! Like all kids they can be mischievous and get into trouble, but overall they are really good kids. Emotionally our family has been through some serious turmoil, so absolutely no games or drama; they don’t deserve it (and neither do I)!
Moving on… History! I absolutely love history. My favorite city in the United States so far is St. Augustine, Florida; the oldest city in the U.S. Ask me about that period of my life. Be it reading historic novels or watching movies like The Patriot and The Four Feathers, I am forever swept into another time before the insanity of the “evolution” of civilization. I’ve always dreamed of being an archaeologist or an anthropologist, or something along those lines; but that’ll have to wait until the kids are grown.
One word that best describes me is a hippie. I believe in living a simpler life with a minimalistic view. The essentials are just that, essential, but everything else is rubbish and completely disposable. Certain items in my home are present, but rarely utilized such as cable TV, video games, desktop computer and any other electronic devices; the time spent on electronics and be put to better use by being productive, creative, active or outside. We try to be as eco-conscious as possible by picking up litter, recycling, using different cleaning supplies, etc. My kids are raised with a light hand, meaning that I don’t believe in spanking often and my technique is a little more hands-off. We values issues regarding saving the planet, the people and animals in it. For the most part, we have a vegetarian lifestyle, although my kids are not vegetarian and are permitted to eat meat when they want it. I am a vegetarian and have been for a little over 3 years.
Controversy! Love it! You might even venture to say that I thrive off of it. Discussions and debates over issues like gay marriage, women in the front lines, stem cell research, and abortion are stimulating for me. You should know that I am passionate about my beliefs, values, and morals, but not fanatical (even if I do get a little over excited about something once in a while).
We enjoy the arts, culture and diversity. On a day we feel like enrichment, we go to zoos, art exhibits, cultural festivals, or music festivals. This is always a turn on for a date too!
Of course we can’t forget my favorite: outdoor recreation. On any given weekend during summer vacation you can find my family doing something invigorating outside. Whether it is camping in the mountains, swimming at the lake, or surfing at the coast, we are almost always having fun in the California sun. I believe that in trying new things, we are expanding our horizons for each family member both individually and as a team. Do you have an idea or something you can teach us?
On any given weekend, it’s not unusual for me to pack up the kids, load them in the truck and GO; no destination in mind, just drive! We almost always end up going somewhere new, experiencing new people, places, food and having a great time. Usually end up with some great photos too! Ask me about some of the adventures we’ve been on, or the ones I have planned for “someday”.
Music is probably my most diverse collection. World music is my favorite. Followed very closely by… EVERYTHING ELSE. LOL. Seriously though, my most listened to genres (in no particular order) are Reggae, Relaxation, Alternative, Classical, Rock, Blues and Jazz. I’m sure I missed a few too! Put it to you this way, my Media Player has a few thousand songs.
My friends would say I’m spontaneous, as shown by the random road trips. I am generous more than any one person in this day and age should be; I have allowed several people to live in my home, eat my food and use my energy for the past three years and have never expected anything in return (and rarely received anything in return).
What am I Looking For?
First off, noting serious at all at this point. A man isn’t born a success, it takes time; relationships are the same. For the time being, I am meeting new people and becoming friends. Every house needs it’s foundation. If you want or expect fireworks and a probable relationship right away or in a short time frame, don’t waste your time on me, it wont happen!
I am looking for someone, man or woman, who likes to have fun. Someone who shares common interests, especially in outdoor recreation and adventure. They need to understand that I am super busy and just because I can’t text you back right away, doesn’t mean that I am two-timing. Physical attraction is nice, and to a degree it is important, but not necessarily required. MUST love kids! I would prefer that my match be a parent as well, but I’m flexible.
