I recently graduated with a Ph.D. in applied math from UM. Right now I am looking for a job and studying for the actuarial exams because I have decided I want to pursue a career as an actuary. I like to read books, am politically liberal, and I am not religious. I don't let my political views get in the way of my friendships, however I have a hard time understanding socially conservative people who feel the need to impose their beliefs on everyone else. I really enjoy sarcasm. In general I am pretty positive and I like giving complements much more than criticism. I try not to take myself to seriously and my friends and I usually give each other a pretty hard time. Spending time with my friends and family is one of my great pleasures in life and I am really lucky to have such a great family. I tend to speak my mind but I do not like to hurt people's feelings. I am not very materialistic. I am kind of a nerd about current events. About you: It would be great if you have some education, are reasonably articulate, and are somewhat curious about the world around you. Ideally you are not obsessed with luxury goods and do not have to wear expensive brands to feel good about yourself.
