Hello, my name is Derek. I recently returned to the states from Canada, so I'm looking for a new beginning. I spent the last 6 years in Canada. I had a lot of good and bad times there. I learned a lot about myself living away from everything and everyone I knew. So, I'm currently living in Prescott Valley to spend time with my family. I don't know where I'll end up depending on where the work goes and what not. I may be moving anywhere is the world next.
I try to focus only on today and tomorrow. I only think of the past as a learning experience. I have no regrets, but have I ever learned a lesson or two in my day, let me tell ya. I'm an extremely loyal, honest and faithful person. So, naturally, I'm looking for loyalty, trust, and honesty. I'm a proud man and confident in knowing who I really am. I know how to treat a woman. I like to open doors and light smokes for random strangers. I enjoy a strong woman that isn't afraid to tell me what she thinks. The only thing sexier than a woman, is a woman with tattoos!
I quit smoking for the second time. The first was 10 years, lets see how this goes. It doesn't bother me at all to be around it. I do still enjoy the occasional cigar, but few and far between. I love movies more than the average person. It's not just about the story, I like looking at the director's cinematic point of view and how a scene is put together. My favorites are always B movies with a shoestring budget no name actors. Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness are perfect examples. Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi were relatively unknown when they were released. I love just about every kind of music you can think of. Rock would be my favorite, but I like most pop, country and even classical Hawaiian music just as much. It's not so much about the type of music, as it is about the quality. My three favorite bands are Foo Fighters, Headly and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I think Lady Gaga is really weird, but I wanna hang out and be friends with her. That would be a lot of good times I think. I have a great sense of humor, mostly sarcastic. It also usually involves making myself look like a spaz.  I love to laugh, it feels great! I love cats, dogs and all animals. I like to raise cats like they are dogs. My last cat came when I whistled and everything. I have an industrial piercing in my left ear. I have a tattoo of a dragon on my back and plans for more. I currently keep a goatee and mustache but I'm thinking about getting rid of them.
I work in the construction trade. Mostly concrete and tile work. I put in a lot of time working too, sometimes 8 days a week 30 hours a day. That's the nature of the trade that I love. So the little time I do have to spend on things I don't want to let go to waste. I work hard and play even harder!
I'm sure some don't, or won't, believe I am what I say. So I dare you to find out for yourself if you think you can handle me.
Why can't a woman take me out on a date for once? I would happily pay for everything, but I'd like to see some effort on your part too Missy. You name a time, I'll name a budget, and you take care of the plans. I think that's a really great idea, don't you? Don't worry, I'll take the time to plan a date or two also.
I enjoy going for coffee, or the usual lunch or dinner. I would have fun going to the movies or staying in and cooking a meal for you. I'd even like to go for a hike and have a picnic, maybe even camping under the stars.
