Thank you for taking the time to check out my profile, I hope that you like what you read, and are able to gather enough that you like about me to send me a message. While I am not too fond of talking about myself, because I really have no idea what to say about myself to sell you on me. Best I can do is tell you a bit about who I am which I hope will perk your interest!
I guess you could say that one of my greatest selling points, or maybe flaws depending on who you ask, is how kind and caring I am. I always try to be there for my friends and family in time of need, and generally put their needs and problems ahead of my own. Some of my friends tell me that I am too nice of a guy, but I can not help that, that is how I was raised. I was also raised to treat women with respect and to treat them well. Raised by a single mother and having an older sister, you would be hard pressed to figure out how this was able to stick with me for all these years. So that is what I do, though not always with success. As I said, some of my friends tell me that I am too nice of a guy, and perhaps the women whom I have met and gone out with do not like having a guy who treats them well or is as nice as I am. But alas, that is who I am. Unfortunately, when I meet women, I like to get to know them a bit before asking them out, and because of my niceness, I get stuck in the friend zone with no way out. I digress, I am not sure I know how to be less nice and to not treat women as they should be treated. That is why I am here, to see if I have better luck on OKC than I have through friends.
I am also a religious person, and I am growing in my faith everyday, becoming more and more serious about what I do believe in. I hope that my being a Christian is not a turn off for you, because I tend to volunteer some of my time assisting with the youth ministries at my church. I just recently finished assisting with Vacation Bible School, and during the fall and winter months, my Thursday nights are devoted to helping teach the AWANA program that we offer. I take great pride in my ability to get along well with kids, and I enjoy helping them through their journey to Christ. Ideally, I would be able to find a women who shares my faith in Christ, though if you are a non-believer that is not a deal breaker. I will not rule out a relationship with someone just because they do not share my faith. I understand and respect everyone’s religious beliefs and do not force my thoughts and opinions on anyone if they are not interested in listening. All I ask is for the same respect in return.
In addition to my faith, another big part of who I am is my love of sports. I love all things Chicago sports, mostly the Cubs (finding a female Cub fan would be great, but if you are a Sox fan that is okay too) but I also rarely miss watching a Bears game. I also follow the BlackHawks and Bulls, though not nearly as closely as the other two teams in the city. I am currently a season ticket holder with the Cubs, so if you are interested perhaps we could attend a game together, maybe even as a first date if you would like.
Another one of my passions, is writing. I have enjoyed writing for as long as I can remember, and I have been pretty good at doing so, if I can say so myself. This comes into play the most with my love of the Cubs and sports, as I own my own Cubs blog, and write there with a few of my friends. The page is small, but growing and gathering more fans every day. My ultimate dream would be to write a sports column for a newspaper, but that is not a real promising dream, so I look towards another dream. I would love to write a book and to see if I would be able to get my work published. I have a few ideas, some children’s ideas, some adventure and even some romantic ideas (I like to think of myself as an old romantic… maybe that is my problem, born in the wrong century lol). But I never really know how to get started, so the ideas just gather dust inside my head. One day though, I will be able to figure out everything and get my thoughts and ideas down on paper.
