I’m PhD Student at Virginia Tech and would like you to have an education where you are clearly ahead of the curve (University+) (or pursuit thereof). In addition to my research, I’ve also been Teaching Assistant for the last few years and feel in love with it immediately. Recently, I’ve done teaching with highly gifted high-school aged students and enjoyed it tremendously. Helping others learn hands-on has really been amazing and has to be one of the most rewarding things ever. I’m huge into life-long learning philosophy and would expect my relationship to include teaching each other all the time and have fun doing so. You should have career goals that exceed one day becoming the manager of the McDonald's you currently work at.
From before I can remember, my family has been going to a lake house during the summers. My family and I love the water, boating, tubing and fireworks. It would be best if you loved these too. Acting and feeling young enough to enjoy these types of activities is a must (minus the amount of alcohol that might have been present when we were 21).
I’m extremely loyal and care great deal for my family and I would expect the same from anyone I’m with. I’m very trusting of others and I try to be extremely forgiving of many things far more than I should, except trust. But don’t think that is a line you’ll cross more than once. Sorry, I’m not normally this serious. Normally, I just want everyone to have a good time. I’ll forgive just about anything with enough time and it would be nice to be with someone who didn’t hold grudges (at least not for too long). You should be caring, loyal and drama free.
I’m an engineer, and not just by profession, but my personally has been descripted by friends as engineer. Seriously, I made computerized automatous driving robots with Legos till I was 17. I wrote gaming bots that exceeded human counterparts when I was in undergrad. MacGyver is my hero and I have multiple gadgets around my house and car. Good engineering is an art! Probably not hard to tell that you should probably like sci-fi and/or technology (or would at least like to learn!).
I’m not a person of faith. I try very hard to tolerate the faiths of others. I’m not even against going to religious services/houses of warship and sometimes even agree with what is being said. But I may be a bit critical of the faith of a partner I’m with. And while this alone may not be a deal breaker, if you are religious zealot, we would probably be happier looking somewhere else.
I’m constantly trying to better myself and one key to this is accepting criticism. If you are going to learn how to be better, you need to know in what way. That will never happen if you are not good at accepting criticism from others and this is important that me and my woman can speak critically to each other, without offending or becoming overly upset. This is something that I struggle with and would appreciate someone who could work with me on this.
Bonus points if your career is teaching, medical/rescue, science/engineering/research fields!
