Hello there everyone. Like every other person creating a profile on these sites, I hate writing these sorts of things. I never know quite how to define myself. After all, how can you sum up the extent of a human being's dreams, hopes, opinions, preferences and individuality in merely a few paragraphs? Either way, I suppose a name would be a good first step hmm? So my name's Brian. That's good so far right?
Anyway, how to define myself? I guess who I am relates to dreams first and foremost. I'm originally from southern California. I moved to eastern Washington to do my undergrad in history and now I'm in Charlotte for law school. In short, I'm really getting tired of doing huge and life-changing moves. On top of being exhausting it's expensive. Plus I hate having to start from scratch meeting people and learning all the areas, stores, streets, etc. It also means I have no idea what to do with spare time. Though I'm really looking forward to football and basketball seasons to start. I love sports in general but never had the chance to live in a major sports city. I can only hope for a chance to go to a few Panthers and Bobcats games.
I don't really have any set hobbies per se. I tend to improvise a good majority of the time. It's a lasting effect of attending college in a VERY small town (mostly a farming and manufacturing community in Pullman, WA) I suppose I enjoy a bit of anything really. I can be just as happy watching a movie or reading a novel as I can be taking a walk through downtown. I've always been relatively laid back. Mostly I just enjoy company so if you want to go bowling, wander aimlessly or just relax I'll be equally happy just to have someone to talk to.
I love listening to music and have way more songs on my itunes than I will ever actually listen to. I have a bad tendency to collect random songs (and memorable quotes on a random side note) and associate them with memories, experiences or people. Because of that, I tend to focus on the lyrics and so slower songs with deeper lyrics tend to resonate better. I suppose if there's any genre of music I'm not a fan of, it would be non-lyrical classical (at least too much of it at once) or heavy rap. (Again, I can appreciate some of the better stuff but rap has never been my thing)
Really though, I've been told by friends that I'm like the brother of a group in that I love to tease and have fun, but I'm really protective when push comes to shove. I've also had friends told me that I'm very good to talk to because I'm an excellent listener and never judge people. Truly though, I tend to think it's not any one thing that makes me stand out or be unique. It's because I'm, just as much as you are you. No one could be ourselves better than we can.
So was that a decent hello or did it come across as simply rambling on and on?
