I can be a little intense when it comes to sports. I love to run, bike, swim, play volleyball, and lift weights. I hope to meet someone who enjoys being active as well. I've done a couple marathons and triathlons and became addicted.
When I'm not running for fun, I'm usually running after my middle school students as I teach Reading and Writing to 6th-8th graders. I got my Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and then did some volunteer work in a Mexican orphanage and decided to switch gears and go into teaching. (random, I know) I love my job. Every day is different which keeps me on my toes. I also coach volleyball and track at my school and for a club team.
My brain is hard wired for music and I can strangely remember lyrics better than my car keys. I like all kinds of music (I am a radio junkie) including Michael Jackson, the Killers, Colbie Cailet, Postal Service, Regina Spektor, Sugarland, Counting Crows, Queen, and Whitney Houston to name a few. I play some guitar and have written a couple songs.
I am energized by being around people, but I also like time to be alone and reflect. I consider myself an artist (although I have yet to get my work in a gallery or anything... someday). I am a positive person, good listener, and have a wide variety of friends and experiences. I have travelled all over the world (Paris, Cairo, Rome, Chihuahua, Amsterdam) and want to do more travelling in the future.
I love to read both fiction and nonfiction. The last book I read was called, Outliers by Malcom Gladwell. It was very interesting to read about the background of "successful" people and how different factors provided them with the opportunity to be where they are now. For example, all the best hockey players were born in January or February because that is the cut off date to play. This book is full of other crazy patterns.
I am looking for a man who can make me laugh, challenge me to grow, and makes me want to be a better person.
