First off, I would NOT date someone who is unhappy about being single, because to me I believe a meaningful relationship is NOT a trade meant for two people to fill each other's void. Rather, it's an adventure for them to explore together, a journey to travel together, and a place where they grow old together.
One of my favourite quotes: people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

It's been a roller coaster experience for me on here. Great times, happiness, confusions, frustration, and disappointment etc. Go figure! I am however still keeping my chin up and holding my faith, strangely and sadly, believing the "right" person is still somewhere on this planet. Every experience, good or bad, is a learning process after all.
I appreciate purity, black coffee, tea without milk, scotch straight up, natural beauty, genuine smiles, crystal eyes, simple, real and upfront people.

Wherever I go, I bring my whole heart along. It has been broken and may be broken again, but I never regret, for I have given it all. Being true to myself is one of the most important things I always try to pursue as I believe "to be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment". I am independent, persistent, funny, loving, sensitive, emotional, caring and passionate, and I like sarcasm. I enjoy being surrounded by upbeat and fun people, because I like to laugh! I'm a shy person by nature, but I'm not afraid of expressing my feelings and I hope you can appreciate that and won't find that strange. I mean, why should I refrain myself from letting the other person know how I feel since I live only once!
Staying fit and active is an essential part of my life. I've been a recreational long distance runner for over 11 years now. Running has taught me to be patient, persistent, focused, sincere and give it all. These characters have been infused into many aspects of my life. In my downtime, I enjoy some smooth Jazz over a fine wine, taking a stroll on a breezy night, watching a nice movie either at home or a cinema with great company. I don't wear make-ups and never paint my nails, either finger or toe. I insist my face be absolutely natural. I would rather look ugly than getting my face covered by layers of chemicals. When it comes to fashion, I have my own taste and dress my own style, and am not a big fan of trend or famous brands.
Education and job wise, I've been in the field of biology and neuroscience in the past 15 years. I hope this won't leave you the assumption that I'm a nerd. As a matter of fact, I'm quite the opposite. Setting a boundary between work and life is very important for me. Just in case you wonder, right now I'm doing research into neurodegenerative diseases.
I'm content to be single, but I also know that I'll be ready to commit to a relationship if the right man comes around. I'm selective, yet am not a cookie cutter. On the contrary, I especially have a weakness for those who have a unique character. However, I do have some basic standards for what I'm looking for. You are honest, respectful, upfront (=no BS and no roundabout!), responsible (I've come to realize that reliable people are very rare these days), decisive, considerate, non-judgmental, caring, funny and fun. I believe in a healthy and lasting relationship, communication is essential and space is necessary. I value candid communication, e.g. what you think, how you feel, and issues we may need to work on. Any relationships require work to maintain. If it matters to you you'll put an effort into it.
