About her:
I'm looking for a smart, probably slightly sassy (self-confident) lady who shares my sense of humor, because I joke a lot. She needs to appreciate chivalry, because kindness and courtesy are a big part of who I am, and I probably can't fix that. I hope that she doesn't mind getting a little sweaty or dirty once in awhile, because life can be pretty dirty. She'll also probably like getting cleaned up as well to wander the city looking for new restaurants and bars. I know that she'll be beautiful, because smart, confident ladies almost always are. Sometimes it's in their smile, sometimes it is in the way that they handle themselves, and a lot of times the beauty is in their eyes; I always find it. I'm probably the only guy on here NOT looking for a 25-y/o recent college graduate.
About me:
I'm a witty hard-working professional, and I play as hard as I work. I'm confident, but definitely not conceited. I like to try new things, and more often than not things turn out well, whether its trying new food or introducing myself to someone new.
Crossfit? Done it - ruptured my biceps tendon flipping a tractor tire, but it's a ton of fun and a great workout. I finally decided to get a road bike, and I'm loving it - trying to ride 100 miles/week for now. I had an chicken/egg epiphany while riding the Monon Saturday - guy cyclists stay in shape because if they don't they would look ridiculous in cycling shorts. I've run marathons and half marathons, and am considering training for them again, but now I'm thinking trying a tri. To be continued...
I'm a huge believer in tailgating at Bonge's Tavern. It takes zero convincing to get me to spend 5 hours hanging out in a crowded parking lot with my friends before a great meal.
I'm an electronics/gadgets nerd. I don't always have to have the latest and greatest, but I always know what it is. I have no problem justifying the assembly of a 20-foot-wide movie screen in my yard for backyard/driveway movies.
I'm handy: I love fixing things, and getting dirty - the sense of accomplishment that you get when you finish something by your own hand is bettered only by the feeling that you get when you learn something new in the process. I don't call the plumber or electrician until I've assessed whether it's something that I can do and whether it's worth my time; that's why Broad Ripple is a good fit for me. Sometimes it makes sense to fix the sink drain yourself; other times it makes sense to pay $300 to have it done so that you can walk down to the bars.
I'm a car nut, whether I'm doing maintenance in the driveway or watching a race. I drive faster than most traffic on the highway, but I use turn signals in parking lots.
During the week I get up early and either work out or ride to work. Work? I'm a tax accountant; I'm good at my job. After work I look forward to cooking dinner. I'm constantly in search of the perfect medium-rare steak and love discovering that I like vegetables that I just assumed that I wouldn't like. I love to grill.
I'm lucky to have great friends and family; they're the most important things in my life, and I try to surround myself with them as much as possible. Concerts, dinner, drinks, movies, fishing, cycling - there's always something to do. I spend time up at Diamond Lake in Cassopolis (I'm originally from South Bend), and the majority of my family is around Indiana.
