About Me |
I work full-time in the quality department of a candle factory as a quality systems supervisor. This involves data entry, data analysis, database administration and development, form design and editing, writing instructions and procedures, and designing training modules - among the basic supervisory duties. I enjoy this job and am studying to become database administration certified with Microsoft in order to increase my ability to expand with the company and market my skills.
However, this job is just that - a job. I am loyal to by bosses and dedicated to helping them improve their quality systems, analysis, and training, but my "life" is outside the long hours spent at work. I went to college for a degree in Fish and Wildlife Management, and once I pay off my student loans I plan to continue my education in pursuit of a Masters degree. I am also a permitted wildlife rehabilitator beginning the process for starting my own non-profit organization. My goals are long term, and I foresee many years slowly and steadily building up to my dream of running a full-fledged wildlife rehabilitation, education, and research center.
Besides work, education, and my long-term pursuits, I am also dedicated to my religion and spiritual beliefs as a Latter-day Saint (Mormon). I study my scriptures and other religious materials daily, have taken college courses on other world religions, and have been actively involved in studies, discussions, and debates across the various belief systems of the world - current and historical. I enjoy comparative studies between science and religion, and believe strongly in the importance of the pursuit of knowledge and understanding in order to more firmly root oneself in a belief system in-line with personally revealed truth.
I then use my garnered knowledge, faith, and testimony to assist others and strive to build them up. I am my congregation's Young Women's President, and I am involved in our Visiting Teaching program - reaching out to those who are struggling and in need of moral, spiritual, and temporal support.
Finally, my last major commitment is to my family. I have a four year old son who is my world, and an older brother with special needs over whom I will become a legal guardian in the near future. I have a strong relationship with my parents and strive to be a support to my mother when she needs it.
As can be expected from these commitments, I am a very busy person, and I am looking for someone who won't be too needy or demanding. I am also looking for someone who will take things slowly, give us time to get to know each other as "friends" and do a few things together before expecting any major commitments. My baggage (everybody has something) is post traumatic stress disorder developed from a life-threatening abusive relationship with my ex-husband and father of my child. Hence, my desire to take things slowly, and be extra sure about any guy I date before committing myself.
