ANOTHER mileage!
by driver406 at 3/31/2011 11:18:01 PM

Is this a heck of a country or what??? This time to New Ulm. I've heard a rumor that there is a bar down there that will give you a free beer if you can prove your name is Ulm.

Lots of flooding in the low lying areas and there are closed roads around Henderson and Saint Peter and Mankato. Lots of high water this year because we've had so much snow this year. Nice scenery overlooking the Minnesota River and the rest stop was a very welcome sight! You can imagine why.

Saw a bunch of wild turkeys. I've heard wild turkeys are much tougher than the ones you buy in the store. Some people say they are so stupid that they have to be taught how to eat, but I think they're not as stupid as Canadian geese.

Now why does the yellow banana dance all the time, but the purple one sometimes stops to rest? What's up with that?

That's are for now! Be back later I suppose and thanks for reading!

Enjoyed it -- wild turkey is not tough & beats the heck out of store turkey.

Alright, details from your road trip. So how do you get around if the roads are closed? I'm thinking the purple one is lacking oxygen and needs to stop and get a breath!

Well now that's just what I've heard about wild turkey. Wouldn't know from personal experience. Maybe the MN ones are tougher just shivering trying to keep warm. How do I get around? 169 was still open, but it may not be if the water gets much higher. Where the road is closed I must follow the detours. They just route you around the low lying areas. So you think the purple one has COPD???!! Yes, that would explain it. Do you think it has any treatment options? It always look happy whether dancing or not.

Details on the trip? Took 169 to St Peter and picked up 99 to 14 and into New Ulm. Couldn't find the place so I got some good directions from a native. The electrician came out and signed for it and I got back in time to do two or three more runs.

Purple banana is high on steroids to treat his COPD. Plus he's a mouth breather to get that breath. Forgot about 99, been a while since I was in that area. Was through Henderson the day before that closed.

99 was open from St Peter to New Ulm when I went through. A lot of places on 169 looked like they would be closed if the water got much higher. Where's that Mayo House in Henderson? Can you get in there for free if you belong to the Historical Society?

Sorry, know nothing about the Mayo House in Henderson. I only drive through and enjoy the scenery.

Well the scenery must be good. I heard they practiced there before they took the whole works to Rochester. I heard they agreed to practice at the hospital if the nuns could find a way to build it. Nuns.......... not many good memories there.

I remember that trip! Lots of closed roads because the Minnesota River flooded, but really people, I do need to get to bed, really. I mean it this time, honest I do! I'm really going to sign off and go to bed now, really.
