I don't "hate" nice guys. However, I find that many guys (nice or not) are related to Gyro Gearloose.

The last nice guy (and he really was very nice) also believed that the artifacts in digital cameras are roving ghosts - and proceeded to take me to the homestead of Rebecca Nurse to prove it. When I informed him the building he felt held all the "ghosts" was a recreation by PBS for a special he was thunderstruck.

Then there was the announcement at a pot luck we attended that humans can no longer swim with the dolphins because dolphins are attempting to rape women who are on the rag. I just about spit out my soup. That is not dinner conversation.

All that being said, he's a sweetheart. He's got a heart of gold and a head of air. I don't see him anymore.

My wish list now includes: Lacks delusional activity.

Additionally, what I hear defined as nice guy stuff can end up being controlling behavior. Mr. Nice Guy (above) did not want me driving alone to Allston because it was too dangerous. Excuse me? I supose the orbs and the aliens masquerading as humans and the sex-addict dolphins were all down there at Deaf Inc., waiting in my classroom. (sigh)

I am always polite to folks, but just because they are "nice" doesn't mean that we would suit. I do have to be able to be seen in public and at professional events with the "nice guy" and not have to be worried that he's going to act like a total idiot.

I believe the issue here is that so many women have been, or have heard of, treated like a lady in the beginning, but then things don't go the man's way (WHAH!) and they stop being considerate.....or worse. So, women just think it's an act that the guy puts on until he gets what he initially wants, then wants more or just gets lazy.

If you (man or woman) give the caring emotions towards your partner, you should get them in return. It's when the "receiver" doesn't feel that they are getting what they deserve, in other words--thinking only about themselves, that the balance gets thrown off. It NEEDS to flow both ways, and don't get greedy!!!! Take into consideration what is affecting their personal life. Everyone needs some support, a little extra, now and again, but remember to give it back when your partner needs it and take on the extra burden yourself.

Anyway, I think women believe the nice guys to only be an act......

I disagree.... I do NOT see nice guys as weak. I'd prefer a nice guy over a real badass.
