Thanks ladies -- The first thing which would be needed to have a successful Homecoming and Reunion is to have persons volunteer to form an H and R committee. They could make their interest to assist here, in this thread. Then those wishing to volunteer their specific specialities: catering, music, photography, video recording, bartending, clean up, etc etc etc could list their field of expertise here. The committee would then appoint the best qualified to those duties. Plans would have to be made for an extended event with entertainment and activities: comedic hour, games and things, social hour, pool party, several fun time dance evenings (i.e.: 50s sock hop, dirty dancing, twist and shout etc), breakfast, lunch, and dinner events, highlight evening would be a formal dinner affair with ballroom dancing (couples only), side trips could include local tourist attractions, and of course a shopping excursion. After the plans have been solidified by the committee invitations would have to be sent out. cool

I'm in. If what Shaggy is saying is true then we could have a mud wrestling event for the ladies to resolve their differences and a mechanical bull riding event for the men who have problems with each other.
Just a thought.
Or vice versa, just to get the problems out of the way, and it would be entertaining.

As far as accusations against others: without proof postive to support the accusation made the accusation of one is only an unfounded assumption. ... Let it rest and enjoy the festivities. Thinking about activities here. How about a guys night out where the guys can play poker or BS thru a football game? The committee could hire off-work Hooters waitresses to cater to their night out. ........ And then for the girls night out, maybe a wet t-shirt contest followed by a mud-wrestling wrestleoff? The committe could engage off duty Chippendales guys to all costume out in cop uniforms to be security and keep the riff-raff at bay. ....... LMAO

Anyone who has any current or former 50s group members on their Friends list it might be a nice time to drop them a hello and see if they would be interested in this 50s Group Homecoming and Reunion celebration. It just came to me that some members have other members blocked and may not be aware of this plan for 50s Group Homecoming and Reunion. If any member knows of another member who has someone blocked would you please make contact with them and let them know that they are welcome to attend this event. For the time of the event the blocker will have to unblock the blocked person in order for all to participate. I am asking ALL members to be on their best behavior during the time of the events and NOT accost any blocker (for it remains their choice to block someone) in any fashion. Anyone who accosts another member during the event time will be ejected from the event and be allowed to return to any of the event activities. All guns, knives, swords, daggers, mace, hand grenades etc shall be strictly forbidden during the event time. Only security personnel shall be permitted authority to quell any outbreak of attack or violence. This special event is for the enjoyment of all -- a time to rest and enjoy the company.

ATTN: I was recently asked my "intent" in creating this thread and what type of "event" I had in mind. Both fair questions. My "intent" is to have a place, even if it is of short duration, where current and former, 50s group members can come together under the umbrella of peace and safety in order to laugh, talk, enjoy associating with fellow members, rest, relax, and just enjoy themselves, in general. A place where the battleground has quieted from all the bickering, animosity of a failed relationship, political filerbustering, and quite frankly "chitty" innuendoes and accusations being slung about. ..... The event: TBA but will hinge on interest. Possibly a week's event schedule, with specific time periods set aside for each activity (e.g.: 6pm-8pm). Activities each day would vary -- from meeting and greeting discourse .. to dancing .. to interactive activities (ie: discussions, football viewing, shopping, formal dance and dinner) to be determined by suggestions of other members wishing to participate.

Thanks Iz -- I would like to relate a short story here which pertains to my thoughts on homecoming and reunion. I raised my children to be respectful of elders, even their own siblings. It is difficult to keep something bottled up inside when everyone else in the house is your elder. My children ranged in age from 5-14 when it came to my attention that my youngest was not being offered an outlet for her 'complaints'. I devised a workable plan where after dinner every Friday the entire family gathered in the den, sat in a circle on the floor and joined hands with their neighbor. Each family member was permitted to express whom, and what, had bothered them that week. No one was permitted to argue the point if the complaint was against them. This simple outlet for personal stress led to a more peaceful relationship amongst my children, especially my 5 year old who had gained equal voicing rights in the family. This simple family time plan resulted in fewer disciplinary problems. If these changes happened for the

Hate is a very powerful and emotion filled word, East. One cannot express hate unless they express love in equal portion. Thank you for reminding all of us of that important fact. ........ Some members may have loved other members of this site during their time here. It may have been an actual one to one affair which ended or it may have only been in the mind and heart of one, or both members. Regardless, time moves on as does pain of loss. That is another reason for all members to participate in a homecoming and reunion. It provides the world with an overall view that adults are adept at "bouncing back" and moving forward with their lives instead of sinking into the depths of melancholy and despair. ... Due to lack of interest in the proposed reunion I am moving work on this issue to the backburner and leaving it there. When adults can't even put aside their argumentativeness and animosity toward their fellow man for just a little while in order to smile, laugh, have interactive fun then it is better for them to stay in their self-made shells hate, deceit, and fear where they will eventually self-destruct by their own devices. ... Thanks to those who posted here and for offering your specific expertise to a project which may have been a benefit to all members. ...... On that note ... I am not quitting or giving up but I am backing away from the hate and spitefulness in this forum before its sickness affects my personal demeanor. ... He said/she said has been going on on DH since I came here. There are better ways to make points than infighting, hurling barbs, and attacking each other over a self-perceived "lover's wrong" against them. Try being real and surviving in the real world outside the "game". .......

think about this... why are they everyone's favorites not here now, yet they never told you why they are not here now but just maybe, that's their own doing...this site allows us to go away and return when we wish...perhaps some left because many don't play nice here and sometimes many know that now...the weather is changing for the colder now and many return because they can't play outdoors and know this is a place that always welcomes the past back...some not posting may have their own problems, too proud to share with others and we should honor them whatever crisis they are faced with honoring their privacy...JMO
i believe sometimes you should not always be heard and being missed is good too...

Thank you for sharing. It's a great photo. I've only been a tribal fusion BD dancer about 14 months now, and love, love, love it. Who knew? But, it has kept me sane, given me some balance, grace, peace of mind, and has been awesome for me physically too ... not to mention the wonderful sisterhood. YIP~
Well, Tribal Fusion is new, starting in America with its roots in the urban beat. I find it fascinating to blend ancient dance forms, erotic-ballet-global folk-martial arts, always evolving just like ourselves (oh dear! and a good guitar rhythm picked out with a latin beat). Yes! Expressing our uniqueness ~and being a woman, as our bodies were designed to be physical, a shining from within attitude ~all the way! Blessings and Peace Okhty!

Maybe it be wise to have the "Homecoming and Reunion" for the 5 blue star members being you all liek to ridcule everyone else who is lesser then you. Just saying. Maybe then you would not need to put such a trivial thing on the back burner. Of ccourse when one needs to look at oneslef prior to anything else, then maybe things might go as one might plan. On a second note, who would be the "Security" for such a "Homecoming and Reunion"? The ranks of the 5 blue star members?

everyone like you has the right to post threads and post to threads because this is your site and everyone else's is my point...sometimes this place gets like HS in here sometimes more grammar school like ..thin skin must become thick skin or this place will suck but again if the missing in action known as oldies on here are gone esp with blue stars perhaps that's their wish...many of the oldies on here have tele #'s because a long time this site went to cell phones and emails off this site so IMO if they are missed their friends know how to reach em...is my point again
