I'll start. I'm thankful for all of the beautiful memories that I have, and all of the years of being happy that made those memories possible. I'm thankful that all of my children and Grand-children are well and happy. I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head and food to eat. No matter how little we have, or how sad we are, there is always someone who has less, and is sadder.
Happy (bitter-sweet) Thanksgiving everyone.

Finally read a forum post from someone with a brain!!!!
And she's even a pretty woman.
I just had to comment, after reading all kinds of silly, immature post by so many.
I am proud to say that I am in agreement that there are so many things to be thankful for.
So many people go through life having never realized that fact.
Good Luck in finding:
Numerous and Quality Friends.

I'm also thankful for the 26 wonderful years that I spent with Jenny. I'm thankful for all the memories and love she gave me. I'm thankful that we got to spend the last day together and got to say everything we wanted to say to each other before she passed. She passed with quality and dignity and with a lot of love.
I'm thankful for my friends who have stepped up since that day and took care of me and my feelings. I'm thankful for our unofficial, adopted son who has been closer to me than any of my family. I'm thankful that he has found his soulmate and that I got to be best man at the wedding.
I"m thankful for Pierre, our toy poodle, for reminding me daily of Jenny. Pierre was "Mommy's dog" and know he's become "Daddy's dog."
I'm thankful for this Forum which allows me to share feelings with those who also gone thru the loss of their soulmate. I'm thankful that I have people to share with and than I am not alone.

I agree. Amen to all the above.
I'm thankful that this Thanksgiving was good and didn't bring with it devastating memories.
Four years ago my daughter and I joined my husband here in Las Vegas. He had already started his job here but we stayed behind to close up the house, finish up my job, pack and all that.
We came here over the long Thanksgiving weekend to spend it together, after having not seen each other for a month, and to look for a house. It was my daughter and my first time here, and we also took in some sights and just really enjoyed being together and realizing how much we didn't like being apart.
When we got off the plane and saw my husband at the baggage carousal, my daughter caught sight of him and went running up into his arms and the look on his face and on her face, too, and the image of the two of them, locked in a big hug, has sustained me for a long time.
At the end of the weekend, my husband took us back to the airport, and the sad look on his face as he said goodbye to us has haunted me. If I had it to do over again, I would never have stayed behind. Or left that day. We would have worked out the move a different way.
My point, though, and what I'm thankful for, is that I was not in a deep depression this Thanksgiving. I thought of our weekend here, not with sadness and longing, but with happiness because that look on his face when we left was clearly that of a man who loved us and for that, I am so thankful to have had him to love.
I am thankful for the time we had together, for the love we shared, for the daughter he gave me, and even for the move we made down here which brought me to a new place and a new life.
I am thankful that I'm able to provide for my daughter and me, to have a roof, a car (trust me, I'm thankful! We went a year without one), food, and utilities. I'm thankful that we have an opportunity to move into a house again.
I was thinking, as I am packing up this apartment, that the last time I moved was with sadness and fear, since I was leaving the house we shared--the house in which we were so excited about the new chapter in our lives--I was scared about the different chapter I was starting. And now, this move represents hope and future and love, and I am so thankful for the friend who made it possible. And the one who is making a future I look forward to possible.
