Not just dating, marrying.......

I won't be offended and I truly hope none of the women here will be either. I'd just like to hear some "intelligent" feedback on younger men, older women. I'd also like to know if a younger man "thinks" about gravity and what that does to a woman, sooner or later. If you loved someone do you think it would matter if her hair turned gray before yours or things started sagging before yours. Guys sag too with age don't they

Ok, enough for now, Im sure I'll think of more. By the way, never dated a guy more then 5 years younger then myself. After a couple months, the age thing was literally a non-issue. I don't know if that could happen with a guy 10 years younger though

My mother married a man 14 years younger than her - she doesn't look her age so you really can't tell the age difference. My cousin married a man that is over 10 years older than her. He does look old so when they are together, she looks like his daughter. He is a sweet man and I try to base my opinion on how he treats her like a princess. It can work - it just depends on the people involved - as with any relationship.

I don't want to get married again full stop. However even living with someone unless they were incredibly mature for 35 or around that age I wouldn't even consider it.

I don't know a guy 10 years younger, but I was wondering if I should expand my age perameters, LOL!! Chicken, well a little bit Afraid he'll like me now but wake up some a.m. and say "wow, she got old", LOL!!!

I think men and younger women are great, so much more natural to me. What's hard is seeing older women and younger men. Whoever we love and get along with though right denise

I meant women dating men 10 years younger sis. I think men with younger women doesn't seem odd at all, I however feel sorta silly with a real young guy, or would feel funny. I haven't dated anyone more that 5 years younger, so far, LOL

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher....

I would have no problem getting involved with a man 10 years younger than me... I'm a young 42... I swear it!!! lol

Change your age-dating preferences and see what happens... what could be the worst thing? You meet someone or you don't.... you never know.

good luck!

Two of the strongest marriages I know of the wives were 10-12 years older.

Course my first husband was 8 years older and the second 8 years younger.

Guess my point is, if your into him and he's into you the numbers are a big so-what.
Either one of you could get hit by a bus next week, everybody pays der money and takes der chances, there are no guarentees.

I dont think 10 years younger at your age is unthinkable why not. For me many of the younger guys have not been married or had kids and they are still immature, so I wouldn't want to get into a serious relationship with them. Just have fun and enjoy.

My mom was 6 yrs older than my dad. They were married 35 yrs. It took my mom 3 prior marriages before she was happy. You never know for sure what your gonna have until you make the effort and try. Yeah sure there are some lemons out there in this world. But that doesn't mean you can't make lemonade. Yeah I know its a bad cliche. Sorry.

Truth be told I bet there isn't anyone here that hasn't had a bad relationship if not more. Age is gauge to go by. For some it will be a limitation and others its a perference in a set of standards. As long as your happy in your choices and the other person is not being suppressed and abused whats the harm. NO I don't condone under age relationships. (21 yr w/ a 10 yr.) clearing that up before it explodes.

If your a legal adult and the person your considering is a legal adult "age" is only a suggestion. I think if you are communicating and its productive whats the problem.? Mind you there are many forms of communication so don't assume I am merely speaking about verbal communication.

You'll never know unless you try. It all depends on what you want out of the relationship.

Women may feel the effects of gravity more than a man, but I've found out that there's a reason that Viagra and all those other "erectile disfunctions disorders" pills are selling at such a brisk pace.

To add to that, think about it. Women live longer than men. So, it would work out better when it comes to length of life together. I'm 53 years old and never thought I would want a younger man. Some men age so fast. I feel young for my years. Now, the appeal of a younger man seems more appealing. Also, the fact of a younger man is not in his 20's or 30's. I'm talking about a man in his 40's.

In a heartbeat. I like older women, not to say I wouldn't take one a little younger. Big deal, things sag. I'll stand you on your head and make you 18 again. I have seen 35 yr olds that look 60, and 60 yr olds that look 30. It's not about age. Most guys have scratched their asses all the way off by the time they are 50. I don't know about sagging on a guy. I'm skinny. Sweetheart if you want a younger man, take him. Watch out, and don't let him play you. Make sure he's true.

Before I came to DH I probably would not have considered it but after talking to some ladies in their 40s and 50s I would have to say that I would definitely consider it.They seem to have less of a chip on their shoulder than people my age.Besides some of these older ladies are smokin hot.I can think of about five or six that are at least 10 yrs my senior that fit this criteria.

This is a good issue and one I've discussed several times with my women friends.

The first challenge is that almost everyone states that are young looking and/or acting and the reality is that just isn't true.

If this is just a booty call situation nobody has false hopes and there are no thoughts about the future.

I've known a few women that have successful long term relationships with men that are 8-13 years their junior. In all cases the men had gone through or never had a mid life crisis. The men were looking for a permanent relationship and not just a booty call with an attractive older woman.

Some men want a lover and mommy wrapped up in one package. If that works for the woman...great

Some men find older women more attractive because many of them are most established financially(just like older men).

My personal concerns would be the following:

When the woman is older and either not interested or no longer able to have children. The man is still young and may not yet know "if" he wants a child. He "may" change his mind and decide he would like a family. This means he will either have to give up that dream or find a woman who is still able to have a child. I think this puts the older women at a disadvantage and at risk.

or

After a period of time the younger man wants a woman he finds more aesthetically pleasing.

Every situation carries it's own risk.

Personally, I would prefer a man anywhere from 8 years younger to a few years older than myself.

JMO

I for one can speak from experience, been there and done that, not a problem. If you don't mind, it don't matter. Shared a lot of very loving wonderful times, And to address the gentleman who had a remark about an older woman, he was 58, I believe. I am probably more active in everything than most women, my age. I have dogs, cats & horses, ride regularly, haul hay, feed and do everything by myself, and if you think that I am dead south of the waistline, think again, so speak for yourself, as to wether you think any older woman can't do what you would expect.........I am 66 and do any d... thing that appeals to me, including long overnight camp out trail rides. I may be a little slower getting into the saddle (I am short) but I still love the ride......

Um, smacks of "Coming to America", EM's proposed bride. So a woman should not have her own style or know what she likes and dosen't? Might be more direct to state you prefer submissive girls rather than a self assured assertive woman. Nothing wrong with that but it's not an age thing per se' just that "girls" eventually tend to grow up.

(smile) as for the "cougar" comment someone made - what's wrong with dirty old women? Dirty old men have been quaffing youngins forever! Think most women would prefer to find someone more or less our own age - but those that are are often chasing young tail. If the younger fellas appreciate what a mature woman offers, direct, states and knows her mind, no games, guess we have no choice but to make do and settle... poor us Here kitty kitty kitty......... Purrrrrrr!

I feel age is just a number the real thing is how mature a person is you can be 20 and be as mature as a 50 year old or be 50 and still be acting and thinking like a 20 year old. So with that I think we should go by how mature a person is not by age and I talking about people over 20 here.....

and I know this topic is directed to men but being a woman I wanted to get my 2 cents in.

I'm not sure about marrying someone 10 years older than me...
Would I date someone 10 years older than me? Yeah I would, if it lead to something more serious down the line, then it's all good.

But I can't think of many girls who are pushing 30 that want to date someone between the ages of 19-21 (or so).

Now Jas,, lemme ask you this,, do ya have a particular 10 years older than you woman in mind? hmmmmm?
Inquiring minds want to know.............

Come on now,, hun,, SHOUT IT FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOPS!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it just so happens that I've got my eye on a certain intelligent & incredibly beautiful red-head from Illinois

YAY FOR THE LIBRA'S! Truly wish you the best!

ahhhhh, ain't lust grand?

I think like most said here, if you two get along and have what it takes well "GO FOR IT" ... I feel that he would be wanting a younger women in time unless he is just into older women. Oh and when like when gravity sets in.That might be difficult to deal with ..but who knows unless you try.. I also think if he is mature thats great!for me anyways.....lol. I know alot of younger guys are in better shape than older ones..
So that is cool..Good Luck! INTERESTING QUESTION!

I wouldn't do it but not because of the age factor. I personally only been with women close to my own age for one reason. Knowing that we are from the same generation keeps me from explaining everything I have to say in regards to cultural reference.
