I typically bring the usual veggie or fruit platter to our get togethers and am bored to tears of it.....
I was thinking maybe the veggie platter with ranch dip
OR Boudin dip and crackers
OR even better, artichoke dip and baguettes, only i don't have many recipes for artichoke stuff.......any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Stuffed mushrooms work well as they are easily rehaeted.
Also you can make a panino, sliced whole milk Mozzarella layered with prociutto, rolled up then sliced.
Other meats and cheeses can be used, even soy based, but add a touch of spice like black pepper to offset the less than perfect flavor.

Antipasto Kabobs... easy, tasty and colorful.. and can make in advance
1 package (9 ounces) refrigerated cheese tortellini
40 pimiento-stuffed olives
40 large pitted ripe black olives
3/4 cup Italian salad dressing
40 thin slices pepperoni
20 thin slices hard salami, halved
Fresh parsley sprigs, optional
Cook tortellini according to package directions; drain and rinse in cold water. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the tortellini, olives and salad dressing. Seal bag and turn to coat; refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
Drain and discard marinade. For each appetizer, thread a stuffed olive, folded pepperoni slice, tortellini, folded salami piece, ripe olive and parsley sprig if desired on a toothpick or short skewer. Yield: 40 appetizers.

Whats realy good is when you get pretzels, rolos and pecans and you put then together. It kind of makes little turtle chocolates
