I'm so tired of hearing people say this and that about Obama. He's our president and whether he's great or crap at his job, we should stand by him and respect him because he's a fellow American...

Well unless you're stupid enough to believe the crap that comes out of Trump's mouth.. Then I guess you don't think Obama is a fellow American lol.

I'm sick of it too. The right's golden boy, W, is why the country is in shambles. .but what gets me the most is people blaming him for gas prices. He has no control over gas prices. None!!

Its basically what I call monkey thinking. The two parties represent 2 different personality types. Each considers the other a threat to their existence. Ok, so here is an example...

Conservatives prefer tradition, keeping things the same (avoids change). Progressives prefer useful change (accepts change). Each feels more safe/secure keeping to their ideal. When there is more of one than the other, someone feels threatened. And this is just one "value". There are a bunch more that are opposed to each other.

Truth is on the middle, we need some of all. But instead the majority just act like monkeys, threatened when they see another bunch of monkeys that may compete.

If we set policies to follow then we would only have to decide who pays for them. And if we made that policy as well, we wouldn't have much to argue about. But instead we are manipulated into fighting, which removes stability.

If we all had full appreciation for the words/actions of our politicians and their supporters, and all worked in concert to resolve issues and come to compromised resolutions in a timely manner, there would be something else horribly wrong with society to apply the pent up aggression, malice, and occasional emotional instability that humans depend on in order to stay sane in an imperfect world.

The scapegoats that are our political system exist as physical representatives for us to vent our concerns and criticism, whether positive or negative. Free speech is not just a right, it's also a safety valve the government uses to avoid what could easily become an unstable and violent population, which is why free speech is only permitted to the point of inciting that very violence they are trying to prevent.

The antagonistic design to our political system exists to create intentional rivalry, symbolizing one of the strongest human characteristics America encourages: A sense of competition. Through competition, the hope is that both parties become stronger by incorporating better and better policies and ideals. However, the drawback is they can also use the system to reduce the quality of their competitor, and therefore gain advantage without having grown in quality themselves.

It's not luck or some severe schism in our society that has led to such a close 50/50 division of both parties. It's careful planning and social evolution that has created this dynamic and maintains it, ultimately with the best interests of our country in mind.

In short, the only way we'll all be happy is if we're all dead. Until then, enjoy the malice for what it is, just our ways of expressing our love for one another.

About Marco Rubio, he is representing someone other than the people who elected him. It would be interesting who backs these tea party people. Our governor is the same. These people represent other intreaste besides the people in fla.

I strongly disagree with trem assessment of our political impass. WE the People r @ fault. Part of the country demand issues-oriented campaigning from our leaders like mass (we had 4 back to back conservative governors) They don't go nasty when running for office around here because we wouldn't elect them. But some part of the country nastiness is rampant. The nastier the better like (Sarah Palin, Ted cruise, Michele bachman etc) Those ppl only won office because they were willing to go low representing the worst of human kind. What I'm trying to say, politicians r a reflection of their constituents. If their constituents want roadblocks to the president agenda because he's black, there is so much he can do. He is not a dictator guys. The president proposes, the Congress disposes

Obama has his moments (dragging things out so as to keep US forces out of Syria works for me), but by and large, he is a tool of the well moneyed just like nearly everyone else in Washington. Obama isn't even the real problem. Take a good look at your senators and representatives.

The People don't have a handle on these guys anymore. I wonder if they ever did. That is why I can't just be happy. When you try to confront Obama or his corporate crony comrades about this their usual response is reducible to . Who is due a lesson in humility? Me? You? Them?
