Hi!
I realize this isn't exactly a cooking or food question. I figured someone here might be able to help, since some of you utilize an electric stove to cook.
I just moved a few months ago. I cleaned the stove for the first time today. I noticed this persistent black stain on one of the burners. It looks like something melted onto one of the coils. How do I clean it?
Yes, I've tried Google to search for an answer. I haven't found anything useful yet.

Try using "Bar Keepers Friend" to get those black stains off. You can find it in most super markets or in bed bath and beyond. I use it to clean hard to get off stains on my stove and for those horrible black or rainbow stains you find on pots and pains. Its great makes them look like new. Hope that helps...

That's carbon build up. Get it scorching hot and you could scrape it off. Metal brush would work
