By far north south choke or triangle, however a crucifix is fun when tempting to humiliate someone

Head Arm Triangle Choke. It isn't easy to put somebody in it, which is why its such a great feeling when you get it right.

I totally agree with taurus. The head/arm triangle is a beast. If locked on correctly, absolutely no escape

Yep -- in discussing only "choke" holds -- they have been outlawed.

The title of the thread says "fav submission."

mmm....no, it wasn't directed at you ... if it had been it would have been directed at you

in the world of sports (analogy) "the choke hold" IS (was) a submission hold

It has been outlawed.

Because of the high likelihood of death to the opponent, the chokehold is often not used in most fighting, and is an outlawed hold within the wrestling community.

We are talking MMA here. Choke holds are not outlawed. They are perfectly legal and are used every day.
I wonder. You post like an expert everywhere on this site. Is the real "expert" wiki?

This and Gogoplata. If applied correctly in both cases, would be highly impossible to get out of.......gamer

I love my darce, but what I find myself catching the most is a triangle to inverted arm bar.

Chokes have the highest percent of success rate, beating knockouts, armbars & leg locks 5 to 1 or roughly 80%. So most people are going to choose what is the most meaningful & beneficial submission to them. Lanky people love arm bars & triangles because their body is made for that kind of leverage & it can be pulled off with stealth for them. I seen a couple like the kimura & that is one maneuver that requires an individual to control their advesarie's lower body. I found that if someone is keen to the kimura it is used more as a maneuver to control their advesaries position then actually applying as a lock. Frank Mir's kimura maneuvare on Nogera was a one in a million shot.

kimura as a "strong man's" move... requires a certain amount of strength... frank mir phisically way stronger than nogeira... chokes are high percentage.. so i would favor the arm triangle... to take an arm i would favor oma plata on a roll through(effective against pure wrestlers)... to take a leg i would favour a heel hook... al though it would be wise to be fluent in them all so as to e able to apply and defend sufficiantly... if i had to chose ultimate submission, would e to simply beat the guy into it... break his spirit and you break his body... being adept at a stand up strategy is extremely beneficial... look to maurice smith as a strong example...

Triangle Choke, Gogoplata, and the classic basic armbar. The first two is inescapable in my pinion and I've always like to execute a basic armbar either when I'm just playing around or when in an actual match.......gamer

Any thing that can be performed on the majority/the bigger guys...for not every one you come across will you be able to completey close the triangle around...unless you modify it some how/some way...so with that being said...I wish to give my self the best chance possible to finalize bigger/stronger guys...so I usually go for the following:

1.) RNC(Rear naked choke). Just watch Marcelo G.

2.) Leg-locks(heel hookss/ankle locks...). Watch Marcelo G...and a few other smaller guys against the bigger/stronger guys

Other subs against a bigger/stronger opponets may take to much strength...or be a waste of tmie to try..."some".
