Reasons not to get married? Hmm, I think it depends on a few things.
How long have you been together? Do you live together? Are you each financially stable and independent? Are there any children involved?
My reasons would depend based on your answers, but I could definitely find reasons against it. Then again, I could also give reasons for it.
If you aren't ready for that level of commitment, you don't need any other reason.

Odd that your asking this question, truly says, your not in love to the point of making a commitment.At both your age,I'd guess you BOTH need to continue an education,be 100% responsible for yourself. Marriage is not a get out the house card, or is it a free pass for sex.

Once you have your mind made up getting married for the most part is pretty easy, although some states make you take classes now before you get married.
On the other hand, the process of getting divorced for a majority of the population is more difficult; some factors to consider are:
The state you reside in w/your spouse (jurisdiction and the state's laws i.e. infidelity, annulment, legal separation) in some states, like in FL if one spouse wants a divorce, it doesn't matter what the other spouse wants because FL is a "no fault" state.
Another factor to consider is what you had before the marriage (property/assets/business), what you've accumulated during the marriage (property/assets/business), how long the marriage lasted, and most/very important, if there are any minor children.
Also, there are two types of divorce, contested (when both parties don't agree on the terms of the divorce and argue) and then there is uncontested (when both parties are amicable and agree to get divorced).
Either way, when children are involved, the court looks at what is in the best interest of the children, first and foremost.
This is only in my opinion and what I have learned and experienced when going through my own divorce, I cannot speak for anyone but myself, so you may want to do some research and a lot of hard thinking before making that commitment.
So, don't let being pressured get the best of you (and don't get trapped!!) keep a level head.
Don't forget when you marry your spouse, you also marry her family (which can make things even worse) it's a package deal!!

If you listen to the advice by people on here you only get the jaded advice based on their experience. It's best not to base major life decisions on how things are in the lives of others. You will always go wrong by doing that.

to me all it is a piece of paper just because you love that person does not mean u have to marry them if u do not want to an both of you are feeling the same way on this all it is is a ring an a piece of paper because if they are going to cheat on u commited to u then its a ways of money an time so i guess what i ' m trying to say is you do not have to be marred to be happy just live together first before you do any thing like that. just by a promise rings an call it a day its a lot cheaper

Reasons not to get married well.first if you do want to get married get a pre nump and a post nump knap, well reasons not to, your credit report, you assume your debt is her debt visa versa, you can walk. Away and avoid a court hearing that can last years, you don't have to say ex impasse lol or ex haha if you own a home and that other person doesn't in most states you don't have to give notice to tell them to leave, and the home is still yours, if no kids together your Scott free no support and so on, these are basics
