if you use canned or jared fruit make sure you drain them well or your jello wont set up.
when using fresh fruits make sure you ajust your liquids with the liquids in some fruits you might have a setting problem there as well.

I'm not big on most Jello desserts but here is one I L VE! and it couldn't be easier to put together 
ORANGE CREAMSICLE SALAD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 box (4 serving size) orange Jello
1/2 packet Knox plain gelatin
1 small can mandarin oranges
1 small carton of cottage cheese
1 small tub of Cool Whip
*NOTE* I make this right in the container I plan to serve from 
Drain your mandarin oranges-- pouring the juice into a microwaveable coffee mug-- bring the juice to a boil in the microwave-- add in the 1/2 packet of Knox plain gelatin and stir til dissolved. Mix the cottage cheese with the dry Orange Jello and the Knox/juice mixture. Add in the drained oranges. Gently fold in the Cool Whip. Refrigerate for at least 4hrs to set up.
The cottage cheese adds a nice bit of protein and makes this salad not so sweet. It goes wonderful with summer foods on the grill like BBQ or hamburgers!

Its good.. It has the strawberry jello on top and the cheesecake stuff on the bottom (in the cup).
