We had an icebox.I was raised by my gr. Mom . we had 2 nannie goats and they provided us with milk.I remember when she made noodles they were hung over a string to dry in the kitchen .

we didn't have an indoor toilet until 1963. remember the old sears and roebuck catalogs in the outhouse. had to ruffle them up a bit before using them.

the ole corner malt shops with the juke box and the teenagers gathered there to dance. they reopened one in a little town about 5 miles below me and in a vacant lot across from it, they are having a band tonight that plays ole 50's and 60's rock and beach music. going down there and take a walk down memory lane.

Listening to The Shadow, Green Hornet, The Lone Ranger, and Inner Sanctum on the radio! That creaking door when Inner Sanctum came on used to scare me to death! Mom and Dad used to listen to this after I had gone to bed and I would listen too (in the dark!)!. The others I listened to myself!

Do you remember Bobby Vinton?
He is now 78 years old.
This youtube clip is from 12/11/2011 when he was 76 preforming in a Live Concert. I am amazed how at his age he performs to such a high standard. I saw him 43 years ago in Las Vegas. He brought the house down singing and playing on piano, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, drums and oboe. And he still doing it today. I think it just incredible a man his age can still do all this and not look like an old man trying to drag up the past.
His personal life
Bobby and his wife, Dolores "Dolly" Dobbins Vinton, have been married since December 17, 1962, and they have five children. I this like this man for alone.

...remember it real well. never smoked until i joined the army in 1959. when i came home from boot camp, hid it from my mom and dad because i was afraid of what they might say. started out smoking winstons and stayed with them until i quit about a year ago.

.... i have an old phone just like the one in the video put up in my basement. it works just fine. when we moved here in the fifties, we were on a four party line. you could hear people breathing when they listened in on your calls. now look at all the types of new cell phones. modern technology.
