I wasn't sure I wanted to post here after reading some of the completely ignorant comments on others but I have tough enough skin so why the hell not.
Ok so I enjoy fantasy novels that are preferably in series. I love Harry Potter, LoTR, The Hunger Games(which I'm actually reading catching fire now), and Twilight(let the hate flow). After the Hunger Game series I'm going to be in need of a new one. So I come to you, people of DH, for your assistance.
I also enjoy Japanese novels as well if that helps.
(Also a little side note. I know some will hate on twilight but I loved those books before they created those seriously lifeless movies.)

If you haven't read the Jean Auel series of the Mother Earth series you may find it interesting. The first volume is titled: Clan of the Cave Bear.

Good post I get into book series as well. Thought I would not enjoy Twilight but got addicted to the books. I like James Patterson the womens murder club series but he has multiple series you may enjoy better. Maximum ride or his witching series. I will keep checking back for good reading.

The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfus isn't too far out from those series you mention. The first two are easily among my favorite books.

Try the "Wicked" series by Gregory Maguire, he completely revisions OZ and gives new perspective to the characters. There are 4 books in the series "Wicked", "Son of a Witch", " A Lion Among Men", and "Out of Oz".

I can vouch for Clan of the Cave Bears and Piers Anthony. I would suggest the Desden files by Jim Butcher. Kinda like the Anita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton, only no smut.
