You keep your cool although you are starkly aware of what is point blank face to face dissing...for what ever reason, but you attempt to be deaf to all criticism and even compliment.
You are there for a reason, and it is not for this work place bully, to appease her, or prove something.
Some places call it 'lateral violence' in the work place.
Some places call it 'just culture'.

Don't let them get to you. If you are doing your job, and do it well. If this person is not your boss. Just keep on doing good work, or you may wind up doing better work than the bully. If that turns out to be the case. Chances are that bully could be on their way out the door. They could feel there job threatened by you as well. The more you let them get to you. The more their dirty deed is done.

I never condone a workplace bully. Remember when they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer? I'm the 's, nicest person at work if I wanted. I'm respectful to everyone that takes the time to train me well, but there is always that one person that likes to boss you around. The truth of the matter is, that person is afraid of you and what you're capable of. So to make you feel small like how they already felt inside when you walked through that door, they bully you around. So relax honey girl, they hired you for a reason. Every job has a work place bully. Most bullies feed off of your reaction. If you let them get under your skin, it will only get worse for you.... With that being said there is a fine line between bullying and harassment. If you feel like it's harassment. Report it.

Ahh the good old work place bully. The thing about them is that they are threatened about the competition. My boss was a big bully but saw how well I worked and brought in big sales he backed off.
Then there's the woman that would find anything to get you in trouble. Well I got her wrapped around my finger cause I'm doing the majority of her job and at any time I can go report her for not doing her job. And there's the other woman that will argue with a wall even if you agree with her. She's about to loose her position soon cause she can't even keep up.
