I get ideas for things all the time from watching stuff on TV like BBQ Pittmasters, Triple D, Man V Food, Restaurant Impossible, ect..... Based off of my skills I have aquired over time from doing all my cooking I think I hold my own pretty dang good in the kitchen or on the grill, and these shows give my ideas for new stuff or different ways to add a new twist to what I already can do.
Last night I did some low & slow cooking on the grill and made some outstanding chicken thighs. I put the charcoal and mesquite chunks on one side of my good sized charcoal grill and did the indirect heat cooking method. I rubbed the chicken thighs with one my BBQ rubs I make. When the grill was ready I threw the thighs on for about 2 hours or so. When they were ready to eat they looked spectacular and tasted even better. They had the smokiness from the charcoal and mesquite wood, the crispy bite thru skin that ole Myron Mixon on BBQ Pittmasters raves about on chicken, it was moist and tender, and the complimentary flavor from the rub I put on them just put it over the top. I was quite impressed with the spoils of my labor, good food is well worth the time spend preparing it.

most of the time home made is always the best when you can do ... I loved the homemade popovers after eating in a restraint and made home style when i could ... sometimes when i would go to change the receipts a little some came out even better . I use to love to cook and their was nothing, I could not make from scratch ... but will say some i could not duplicate from a place when i would eat out and try at home.
