Just watched Stir of Echoes. Hadn't seen it in over 10 years. Good movie! Has anyone seen "Satan's Little Helper"? I watched it around Halloween - what a different comically twisted horror movie. Amanda Plummer is such a freaky weirdo but she is perfect for these kind of movies!

I just watched Shark Night 3D last night. Love shark movies and any fish or crocodile movies to death because again it could really happen. I am totally into "Snakehead Terror" too. My son laughed at me constantly saying "Fake head Terror" fish and said that they didn't exist. I had to prove it to him on "River Monsters" that they are real and can breath on land. Very creepy and interesting!

Hey Horrorhound have you seen "Death and Cremation"? I love that movie because Brad Dourif is in it and there something cute about Jeremy Sumpter so I'll be watching it for about the 4th time now tonight. Do you get the Chiller channel?

I saw the new version of Fright Night. It is really a remake of the first movie, not the second, with a female vampire instead of a male. Too much gore, not enough sex. I certainly have never seen anything like that vampire bite the girlfriend gives the hero! The blood was just SPOUTING.
yOU may think I have a one track mind. You may ask "Can no amount of sex in a vampire movie satisfy your warped lust?"
No.
I also saw the new version of Embrace of the Vampire. One of the vampire bits was spoiled by turning out to be only a dream sequence. Since the plot of the original did not make that much sense to me, I don't mind that they changed it, but they could have kept the characters that were played in the original by Charlotte Lewis and Jennifer Tilly.

Have you seen the Hamiltons and part 2 TheThompsons? It's kind of a realistic view of what a vampire might really be like living among us!

The orginal Fright Night from 1985 is great and it's sequel is under appreciated but cool. The new Fright Night movies are shit!

I think only his very first book "Carrie" was ever remade over and over. Although they also tried to pull off some part 2's and 3's from some of his originals like Pet Semetary and Sometimes They Come Back ("Again")

Everything seems to make it's way back. I LOVE originals and can't fathom why others think they can live up to the expectations. I always prefer the original! Even in Trilogy's. Star Wars is the first and the others just follow. Jmo..

I watched it last night after reading your post. I wouldn't consider it a "horror" film, not even a "suspense" or "thriller", it was more like a drama (albeit dark).

Anyway, the main character Caroline (if I remember correctly) WAS pretty creepy. If she was my child, she'd have gotten her a** beaten LONG before she EVER had the idea to pull that surgery stunt.

I knew something was wrong with the girl since she had necrophilia (at least a mild case), and seemed to be fascinated with blood, but I really didn't expect that ending.

Overall, good movie though. Not quite sure if there's really a MORAL to the story, but then again, I guess not all stories HAVE to have a moral message.

You can't go wrong with the classics.

Nightmare on Elm Street series

Friday the 13th series

The Howling series

The night of the living dead series

Fright Night (the original)

Critters

Ghoulies

The Halloween series

The Child's Play series

and my favorite of the "new" school of horror films is the Saw series.

That's STRETCHING the truth a bit. Horror movies today are no more sexual than they were in the 80s, I KNOW, I lived through the 80s, and 90s, and there is NO MORE sex in them today than then.

If anything, there MAY be LESS. I haven't actually sat down and COUNTED and compared the number of sex scenes are in horror movies from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, but even IF there WERE MORE sex scenes in horror movies from the 2000s (which there really are NOT) your statement would STILL be a STRETCH because NO sex scene in any American Horror filmrises to the level of X-RATED, you may see some tits, definitely some ass, and sometimes even a full female frontal shot (though quite rare), but you will NEVER see actual PENETRATION, and you will NEVER see ejaculations, which are really the 2 MOST important shots in pornography.

You'd be hard pressed to compete in the porn industry trying to sell content that DOESN'T include PENETRATION and EJACULATION.

A really great horror movie has no nudity in it because it doesn't need that to scare you or make your skin crawl! "Murder Set Pieces" is probably the one you have seen!

A Horror movie can be great whether it has nudity in it or not! Some Horror fans don't like it and some do, to each their own.

No, I didn't see that movie, and I'm sure whatever sex scenes are in the movie, they do NOT rise to the level of X-rated, so it is NOT pornographic.

The other night I watched the original Stepford Wives. Love that movie. The remake wasn't scary more comical. I loved Katharine Ross and Carol Lyndley in the old horror movies. They were so great at acting (the terror was truly in their eyes). Today it is so faked!
