Google has changed many things that affect how websites are ranked and displayed online, such as:
Product Listing Ads
Panda, Penguin, and Other Organic Changes
AdWords Enhanced Campaigns
Content Integration into SERP
NEW Hangouts
If you are counting on your organic rankings for more than 50% of your business, it's important to learn more about these changes and how to adapt to them and remain competitive. I have worked in this industry for more than 14 years and have seem a lot of changes, but nothing like what Google has done in the last year or so.

Even if you don't care for the changes, OP --- I am sure Google does --- they have been financially successful so far, haven't they?

Their infrastructure is good, so whatever changes they may have made right now isn't material or significant enough to affect their bottom line, seeing their stock portfolio constantly doing well within the market. Now if another search engine start to use some of its strategy WHILE thinking of an innovative way to of an inception of a product that has better service, THEN Google should start to feel concerned. But for now, their competitors and rivals are always falling behind them......gamer
