The IRA was created because of the King James version of the Bible. When Henry the 8th rewrote the bible and established the Church of England as the state religion the only "hold outs" were the Catholics in Northern Ireland. While Henry was able to expunge all other religions in the rest of England the "rebels" in Northern Ireland never gave in. All other churches were expunged and their followers converted to the Anglican faith or run off and sometimes murdered and executed. The political and cultural divide that exists to this day between Northern Ireland and the rest of Great Britain is still going on today. That is why each monarch is known as the "protector of the realm and keeper of the faith". The reigning monarch is also the head of the Church of England just like the Pope is the head of the Roman Catholic Church. It is representative of the folly for those that might actually believe the King James version of the Bible is the word of God because all it really did was create a state sponsored religion that agreed with the wishes of old Henry the 8th. History illustrates the illegitimacy of the King James version for the Bible clearly. The King James version is more the words of Henry the 8th than any god anywhere but it did get him the additional divorces he wanted. That's why he did it in the first place, to get another divorce the Pope wouldn't allow.

I learned quite a bit from the previous comment. Quite intresting to me, especially since I lived in Galway. Although I agree the British should leave, I cannot advocate the use of violence. I would fully support a boycott of British products and write my elected officials to advocate for this country to take a stand against this occupation.
Then in Northern Ireland, I think it's obvious. What workefd in India with Gahdi, in this country with Martian Luther, and South Africa with Nelson Mandela. Non-violent resistence will turn the tide for the IRA.
