Balad Air Base (AKA Anaconda) 09-10. I actually enjoyed it there, but that's probably because I didn't actually have to deal with Iraqis.

Desert Storm, pushed up to the Highway of Death supporting a french armor unit. OIF from the invasion until Mar '04 when the marines relieved us in Fallujah and they ended up being run out of town by the enemy six weeks after they got there. Then got a lot of men killed retaking it the following November. Idiots. Six month tour in '06 after a year in OEF '05, very cool mission. 15 months from '07-'08. Been all over, didn't stay on a FOB much, all with the 82nd.

Supported the 24th Inf Div out of Ft.Stewart,Ga.
Crossing the Iraqi border with them thru the Western Flak.
Operation Joint Guardian as a Peace-Keeper in Bosnia in Country Oct '97-Apr '98..
OIF 2 '04 Kuwait and Iraq..
Hung up Combat Boots 2nd and FINAL time,after being medically retired 31 Jul '07 after 24 yrs...HOOAH

My sincere apologies to my fellow combat & non combat vets for my absence in the blog. As time has led me to a wonderful relationship, so it was only proper for me to depart from DH.
