yes, I guess that info should be shared... there are 50 different poisons in this particular mushroom... they do seem to all counter react each other which make this mushroom safe... however, everyone has a bad day and I suppose that could said for a mushroom not equaling things out properly.. slim chance but it could happen...

as stated above @Garfield,,, all the white dots as well as the under side of the gills should be scraped and cleaned... those white dots are strychnine... not good...

an open oven on low for a few hour is usually sufficient to dry these caps out...

These mushroom are RED with a very slight tint of orange at times... DO NOT confuse these with there cousins the Pantherina which are mainly orange with some red... the Pantherina will kill you dead!!!

as for consuming I would think not more than one or even half a cap would do... but am unsure of the dosage... I would also think taken on an empty stomach then drinking water on top of that.... your first chance to urinate should be all that it takes... once again... how much to drink??? I guess til you can't stand it any more... lol

There is an extremely long history of use with these mushrooms... biblical as well as shamanic...

Amanita muscaria was widely used as an entheogen by many of the indigenous peoples of Siberia. Its use was known among almost all of the Uralic-speaking peoples of western Siberia and the Paleosiberian-speaking peoples of the Russian Far East. In western Siberia, the use of A. muscaria was restricted to shamans, who used it as an alternative method of achieving a trance state. (Normally, Siberian shamans achieve trance by prolonged drumming and dancing.) In eastern Siberia, A. muscaria was used by both shamans and laypeople alike, and was used recreationally as well as religiously. In eastern Siberia, the shaman would take the mushrooms, and others would drink his urine. This urine, still containing psychoactive elements, may be more potent than the A. muscaria mushrooms with fewer negative effects such as sweating and twitching, suggesting that the initial user may act as a screening filter for other components in the mushroom.

Once consumed it actually goes through a chemical process which can only be realized but consuming the urine... maybe I'll look into it more for more detailed explanation of this chemical process...

Urine drinking

Among the various Siberian peoples who use Amanita muscaria as a cultural norm, there exists a curious practice whereby the urine of one who has consumed the mushroom is drunk by another who consequently becomes inebriated. The urine of this person may then be drunk by another and so on, the procedure being repeated up to five or six times. The reason for this practice is that A. muscaria contains ibotenic acid which, when the carboxyl radical is removed from the molecule, yields the psychoactive molecule muscimole Ott, p. 327. The metabolic process of decarboxylation which effects this transformation within the user's liver is very inefficient. In fact, it is so inefficient that approximately 85% of the ibotenic acid ingested (more than enough to inebriate further users) passes through the body unchanged and is excreted in the urine Ott, p. 328. To put it another way, the urine contains more than five times as much of the drug as the body can assimilate.

This unsavory yet economical practice is well-documented among certain Siberian tribes where A. muscaria is widely used in both shamanic and ludibund contexts von Bibra, p. 75. Of all known traditions of drug use this practice of recycling the urine is unique to A. muscaria consumption and should be considered a highly significant indicator of this mushroom.
