I think datehookup needs to allow you to explain why you flag a profile that is possibly a scam. These people who have profiles are getting more wise. The profiles sound perfect; they even have (801) area codes but everything you ask comes from the internet & you can tell they are not from here by grammar, but wait supposedly he's a Doctor. Yeah right! I hope women pay more attention. If they say they are from here, taking care of a loved one, have no siblings, usually they are a single parent with no family, after getting you hooked they come up with some BS story. Also they use the word "am" instead of "I". I've ran into my fair share of scams & know very well what to look for. Be careful & pay attention guys & girls! P.S. Usually they are very good looking & the pictures are fake. Make sure to ask for more & ask questions about ut, if it takes a minute they are looking on the internet "partly cloudy & sunny", when it actually snowed all day.

The scams here are getting so bad that almost have are fake. You used to flag them and the site would delete them. Now they ask for friend requestsand when you accept them Iit makes it harder for the site to filter them out. So don'tjust accept a friend until you know them. The site Iis leaving them on even when you flag them. You may need the attention, but think of the poor suckered that really thinks there's something there and sends them money. Fools and their money are eeasily parted. So start flagging them so that the site can delete them. The more you play into it, the more they will come in. I'm getting tired of flagging them and the site leaving them on and the site is hard to complain to and get them to take action.

I didn't know there was another area to post this. I'm kind of new to the "forums" but now that I know I'll repost it. I think the word needs to get out more.
I'm not easily fooled and I'll track & find each & everyone. Its just sad that this site or others won't do anything about it!

It is not a question as to how many profiles on DH are fake, it is how many profiles are real. There are a lot more that are fake. Be careful of the profiles that say they are from NY,NY or some other big city....They are no where near that location. LOL

I tend to have fun with all the fake people! in most cases when the scammer is a woman she always asks for money!! I always tell them I will send them four times that amount, that way I know in my heart they are well taken care of! lmao then I lie repeatedly and tell them it has been sent! most of the time they go crazy trying to find it at the post office or more often Western Union! I just keep it up until they realize they been lied to and they don't contact me anymore!

I have found that any guys whose occupation is military is a scammer. Their location is in the United States however, they are actually in Nigeria. They always ask to talk on yahoo messenger.
I guess girls are that are scammers ask for a guys Kik username. I do have a Kik account but never ask a guy to add me if they don't want to.

I can tell instantly who the fakes are. If it's a woman and she talks to me, it has to be a fake because I'm hideous.

I signed up on plenty of fish 6 months ago, 11 girls initiated contact and every single one of them was a scam! every single one of them wanted money, because they were all behind in their bills, they all had kids who said the father wasn't around, and after just learning about the 801 area, 6 of them came from another country but said they were in places like New York Chicago San Francisco. all of these date sites are truly just a crap shoot! but hey what the hell why not play!

I never received a scam email on POF. And I also never noticed any obvious scam profiles. Don't know why it's different for you.

I just gave a fake person a piece of my mind. He is totally using another persons identity. Wish I could somehow let that person know someone is portraying him. Voice is definately foreign. Getting a lot of these. You can also tell how they write everything. What a bunch of crap going on here.

Another way to check, is GOOGLE their profile text. Copy what they say on their profile.....not to much or Google won't take it. Most of the time it will be identical to other profiles of other people on other sites. I found 10 of the same on OKCupid one time. Don't tell them how you know though, because they stopped using photos that are GIS or Tin Eye searchable when people found that out.  They now steal photos off other singles sites and friends only Facebooks because those are not searchable. Still though use the ole "If it sounds too good to be true........." train of thought, and apply it no matter where you are online.

I normally check the ages that they are looking for they all say 18 - 83 or 90, it's not that much love in the world to go that old. N another thing before reading their messages check the profile its been deleted or is invisible. N me being a veteran I have noticed the load of messages n winks I just ban them n label them a scanner.

when I get messages from out of state men I automatically right click on the picture. a pop up shows and down near the bottom is a line that says google this pic. click on it and if its a fake it shows. Ive run into one guy that had 3 profiles from different places, same pic, different names. It tells you if they are scammers or not

I have added the line NO SCAMMERS PLEASE at the end of my profile. It has reduced the amount of scammers I get significantly. I hoping that they realize that I am aware of scammers and their tactics and makes me a less interesting target.
Good luck in your searches and keep posting anything you have to help identify these scammers. When their games get old they quickly invent new ones and it's hard to keep up with them all.

Billjohn14 scammers best way I find is reverse picture search. Tiny eye I will do it with min of three pics I have foundation lot that way. And u can check romance scam also but the reverse pic hookup so far is the best I found

I respond to them..with the question what was it about my profile that attracted you? and follow that with a question about something they stated about themselves in their profile... when you get NO answers or something that doesn't even address what you have said..WELL it's a good time to FLAG/BLOCK

I never have Googled a pic, Robin. Hardly ever pay much attention to the physical. I lik words best. Still doesn't explain why I was hit with the block. I didn't do anything to the skeerdy cat. I never do anything to anyone.

Hello you need to flag Chrisbud111 from Date Hookup, he is a scammer, goes by the name of [email protected] or Christopher Burden, only child who is half australian half canadian/or american and will take a trip to sell off his business and his luggage will get lost with his cr cards and he will ask you for money to help him out. He even sends pictures to you and his other yahoo mail is [email protected]
IT IS ALL A SCAM LOOK OUT AND PLEASE FLAG THIS.
