By homeless I mean.... Live in a mobile shelter and be on the road to where ever it takes you. Stay for a while if I like this area. Move again if I choose to change my neighbors or don't care much for the climate. We had a plan to travel via camper after we raised our children... but he left me to finish the job of the children and WE now is me. I would welcome a partner to travel with. And that just might end up being one or two of my children at this point. But I do hope to find my forever best friend again. I don't know if it is in my cards... but would like to feel that again. Do you find this crazy to want to be living this lifestyle?

OP:Have you checked the world travelers group?

I think your idea is a good one and not crazy at all. It isn't homeless, it's simply "mobile" or if you want to make it sound adventurous, try gypsy... always on the move. Home being wherever you hang your hat. Good Luck to you

Our dream was to have an old VW bus...get a special paint job, put a mattress in, mosquito netting for the doors and some handmade curtains. Load up the fishing poles, a couple guns and the portable grill. Life is good with sun rises and sets across the land.

Keep up the dream and finding the reality will come.

Actually, you are MORE LIKELY to successfully find a new mate and remarry with that mindset. You are about to become ready to move to some older guys "pond" and "fit in with the life and begin a new chapter. MOST older WOMEN (and men) who don't remarry are looking to find a new mate to slip into THEIR HOME, THEIR LIFE, without "muddying the water" or "making waves" of radical change in THEIR life. They don't want to move and hope to find someone like you who WILL MOVE AND MAKE most of the sacrifices that entails.

Good luck, I see you successfully remarried quickly with that mindset.

"Yep. Well, not exactly 'homeless', but maybe an RV. It's a lot of work to keep up a home, especially if you're a woman and alone, and your house is getting older. Work all your life to pay off your home and put money into it instead of vacations, and what do you get? Higher taxes. You never really own it, and when you die the government (or nursing home) will likely take it anyway. Why not just travel and enjoy life?

I was so lost when my hubby first passed, I gave away almost everything we had, and was just here and there for a long time, didn't care where i was, no where was home.

But now, I have changed, I have found a small place in this big world to call home. It is really small, nothing fancy and not what I was use to by no means. But stuff matters not at all to me..

I am thankful to be alive, I exercise again, still overweight, but working on the healthy part. I never imagined that life could go on in so much physical and mental pain, but it has and I am a part of it.

what does it matter if we are homeless, or rent a storage building now apartment, nothing matters anymore, except loving life..And so I am free again to be who I wanna be and where i wanna be..
We all are, and we all know we don't give a rat's a** what anybody says right..

Not crazy at all...After my husband passed I roamed the countryside in my car...thinking of doing it again. Life is short, so take to the streets.

It doesn't really matter how you do it, so long as you are comfortable doing it! It's sort of like living off the grid. If one can do it without any charity help, but yet be comfortable portraying the homeless scenario, by all means hop to it! I find it intriguing, and adventuresome!
