Due in fact many ancestors that were slaves had resources that was taken from them, lands, wealth that kept their operations alive and there family alive. The slaves have build many nations including U.S.A... where were their reparations, where were their pay for the hard work? The slaves owners benefit from it, their family down the line benefits from it... wonder why the aboriginals of Africans, latinos, natives indians suffer from it til to this day.

As me being half native indian... I have the right to claim what this native land and the suffer of my people thru history.

Most of my African friends would say you are in a better place for the hardships your family faced in getting here. Egyptians enslaved the Jews, English enslaved the Scottish and the Irish, enslavement has occurred over the centuries across all manners of religions and races.

Please feel free to go spend some time in Africa and determine if that is where you want to be. If so...make it permanent, but please I did not live 200 years ago and I owe nothing to anyone for what someone else may or may not have done.

History is wrife with suffering.

What is the Utopia you compare reality to where the weak don't suffer at the hands of the strong? This is the case in history since the dawn of time. There are NO exceptions. What country other than ours have come further than this one in mitigating these problems? Every man or woman who has ever been a slave in this country is dead. Our president is colored (though it doesn't appear to be helping him any). If the past had been different, than YES...things would be different. This goes without saying. Mitigations have been put into place with that firmly in mind. You can't discriminate in businesses against color, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual preference or otherwise without facing lawsuit. Public places of business are integrated. The military is integrated. People often times forget that the history of America is still young; younger infact than any of it's developed peers. I won't live to see a day where white women won't refuse to date me because of precieved inferiority that is subscious in nature. It's too late for me. I can only pray for my children and grand children.

I don't have to like our past...but as an economist; I understand why the south didn't want to sacrifice the life-blood of their economic mobility. I don't like that women won't date me based on the color of my skin...but I accept that I am living in the FIRST generation of my family with the civil rights to even DINE with whites. I don't believe in reperations because nothing has been taken from ME that can be restored by money or things. The truest way for me to take advantage of my current situation is to utilize the freedoms that have been painstakingly secured for me.

Just because government have been stupid enough to pay them doesn't make them justified. My family came over from Germany when Grover Cleveland was president. Do I owe you reparations too? This was about 50 years before the holocaust, maybe I could be on the hook for that tragedy too?

Land is not money... resources is not money... you fail to understand what reparations is and it always doesn't exist with money because money will not reach enough to pay for the damage it had made.

The payment should be coming from those that taken as well as benefitting from the treasures that belong to my family. I clearly pointed out land and resources.. money can do little since it have no value.
