Lots of scammers. I've messaged back & forth to many, only to find out they have a "significant other" & they contacted me, not vise versa. Oh so many fragile egos - be prepared for many many insults if you "dare" to try to gently tell them they're not your type. They will beg you to meet them & if you don't respond you'll get a barrage of insults about how they were never interested in you to begin with. (yet they'll stalk you until you need to block them)
Yet, if you have the patience to put up with the childish behavior of most, you will come across of few really great men! (it's like looking through the forest for hours, only to find a single truffle!)
I suggest you don't meet anyone until you have done a lol of messaging back & forth. And please, don't rush into giving out your number (I use a fake town - lol - & I'm very glad I do!)
I don't trust anyone with only one picture. I don't trust the ones who won't post a picture (that screams that they're cheating on someone) They will tell you they NEED your number or email to send you a picture. That's BS! If they're so technologically impared that they can't upload a picture, they wouldn't have made it this far.....
Talk to us in Woman's World if something seems suspicious. Most of us have encountered foolish behavior.
Good luck though. There are a few good guys on here. Be very very picky & you'll do fine!

I agree with cinnamonhaze. I was very lucky to find a great guy on here. I had no expectations on this site. My boyfriend and I have been together for a little over 7 months now. I have also made some really good friend's on here too. Good luck!

I dunno, but I found that pretty funny.
Real? Most are anything BUT. I do think there are some real guys here, just like there are some real ladies.... but a LOT are:
1. scammers
2. looking for sex
3. pretending to look for more, but looking for sex
4. just want to troll the forums
A few...
5. just want to get some laffs from the forums, and maybe a healthy debate
[ there are a few of those, if you don't read the trolls posting inbetween]

If you have the suspicion, he probably is. There's like, what, 60% of the general population that cheats on their significant other. I suspect on a site called "DATE HOOK UP" you can increase that percentage by at least 20% if not more.
MANY of the men I thought seemed honest & truthful soon told me that had a significant other but they just weren't happy. Well Boo Hoo! Don't drag me into your mess. I trust no one. I expect liars & cheaters. I appreciate those few that at least have the balls to fess up.
If you're planning on starting a relationship with someone you don't trust from the start, you need to get yourself into some sort of counseling & figure out why your self worth is so low that you're willing to put up with that BS from the get go. Seriously? You think it's gonna get better? You think you can "change him"? Try asking that question to the people in the Divorce Group. You have a better chance of the Tooth Fairy leaving you a million dollar check or finding Santa Clause sneaking down your chimney.

Just because the site is called Hook Up doesn't mean everyone here is hooking up.
Any date site you go to will always be in question.Men and woman talk with others.Never believe your the only one.
If someone asked me if I was hooking up with others,my reply would be NOT looking to hook up with anyone.
A relationship with one person is what i'm looking for.And in time getting to know the person, we would develop more into the relationship.

I've actually run into two "real life" guys on here I know in person. (Is that ok to say?)
1 - married, looking for hookups and a very charming good liar. Seems so sweet and innocent and always the victim but on the prowl nonstop for strange. No matter how many ladies he gets in the stable always searching for more.
2 - single and sincere. No game and a virgin at like age 40 but good character, attractive, hard working, responsible etc.
as far as strangers, idk. Not a lot of game from the few who contact me, I'm doing all the heavy lifting and that isn't my thing. One was weird though, requested something weird sexually in his first message. Um, no thanks.

There is good and bad on any site.As for honest and sincere people here?Yes there are, you have to take your time and not rush into the first gaga momment.I don't know about you but time does tell all.If you waited months, odds are you know more then day one and week 2.Far less chance of regret or heartbreak,as well as your health.
My guess would be the person has respect for you.That says volumes!

As for serious? Internet guys are something to be dealt with. I always end up like this... Because they all tend to fall into the same kind of pattern that makes we wanna stay alone. Guys have always seemed to be 'serious' about wanting to get straight to one thing only. They seem to want to skip flirting, fun...romance...and I don't like that sort of thing at all. I need to include the romantic part, but they won't have any of it...and then they threaten to leave. They want to complain about the 'games' we play, but they play games, too. They're just too self-absorbed to care about anything else but their own personal fantasy. That's all it is to them is a fantasy. And we are supposed to pretend to be their 'fantasy girl' No, I'm about ready to hang my hat on all this, better off alone anyday.

This site has changed a lot over the years. The former owner ran this site very well and it seemed the guys were more serious in their intentions. In the beginning (2010-11) I had great luck; good meet n greets, good conversations and a bunch of dates.

I guess you could say there are men here that may be honest,but NOT serious.Or are serious but not honest.
Most that I have encountered were not from forums,and lived with in 100 miles,that I have met.Have to say when you meet is when you find out where the honesty lies and if they are serious ,time will tell.
