I was wondering if any of you ladies would date someone you don't have much in common with?
Like different taste in music, not liking the same kinds of food, not agreeing on what movie you want to see? I was just curious to see what others thought on this subject.

It's not about my boyfriend and I because we are both willing to try new things together. I'm willing to go camping, fishing, and hunting with my boyfriend but not with anyone else. I have been camping before but never been fishing or hunting. We do both like country music. I'm probably a bigger fan then he is. Not that I'm not willing to listen to other types of music but everyone has a type of music they prefer listening to.

Nope. I gave up my interests to do my husbands interests. And now I will not do that again.

I don't mind doing a mates interests , but it works both ways. Overall a common interest is what holds people together.

OP is your bf doing your interests or are you just doing his? Maybe this thread is about you and you are having certains and want our opinion?

It's not about my boyfriend. It's about our friend that we hang out with together sometimes as well as I hang out with when my boyfriend is busy working. My boyfriend trusts me and I would never cheat on my boyfriend. I'm willing to go see movies I normally wouldn't see. However, he isn't willing to listen to the music I want to listen to.

EXACTLY!

OP, you described my ex husband & I. It was fine at first, compromising. But after awhile we grew apart. He stopped compromising & I compromised too much. I lost myself & that lead to a very deep depression. He was so used to getting his way, I could have been dead & he wouldn't have noticed until my corpse started to smell.
It may work for some, but I won't do that again.

I think most woman and men have tried dating,or have married a person, you may not have common interests with.I think a few you have to have in common is ethics, value of respect, and each person has to understand it's not all about themself.

Having resentment because of lack of interest,or unwillingness,Is 2 dying fish flopping on the beach, that can't get back in water.

It would be difficult to find someone you have 'everything' in common with and their differences, ways of thinking and hobbies could be a new, exciting, learning experience for you. I draw the line with sky diving, lol.

There are core commonalities that are a must. Everyone has something though that needs to be in place for it to work for a lifetime without compromise though.
