I realized soon after signing up here that it was extremely unlikely I'd meet someone from here. Very low numbers in my area and age range. I stayed for the forums. When I decide to try to date, I use other sites.

I'm learning that the majority of men either like to simply critique my profile (I do change it sometimes), make comments about my pictures (and that's it) or if they want to see me in person only do so because they believe I might be a good f*ck, but none of them would ever consider me as a person they'd seriously like to date. I'm learning I will become nobody's girlfriend ever again, and that makes me sad because my intentions are honest. Online makes me feel like an object, but I keep looking for some reason. It's that eternal 'maybe I'll find him tomorrow'...

I always hope it's not true, Tazz, but it's what I'm being taught by the men who approach me or those who respond when I approach them. Of course, I still have an open mind and I know a lot of people have come out of relationships that hurt them and something more serious again is scary. I'm not in a hurry, but I am in a place where I want a healthy, intimate relationship. A lot of men say they want that, too, but just not with me.
But thank you for reminding me to remain hopeful.

When I first came to DH, I was looking. Now I just come in for the forums.
I'm not looking, but I'm open to the idea of meeting someone.

Met someone.Felt he was too young(10yr difference), but decided to keep an open mind and try it anyway. I was right, he still had some growing up to do. He needed a mom, not a woman. We are friends, but I haven't met anyone that I want to become serious with so far, except one I let get away a few years ago. He still holds a special place.

Found a friend whom I was acquainted with back during my H.School years. He and I met through my then close friend. They briefly dated and shortly after, I learned he had a thing for me. Out of respect for my friend, I had my reservations. Well, a couple years ago, he requested my friendship on FB and even then I was a little hesitant about reconnecting with 'em. So, it wasn't 'til a couple months ago that I decided to accept his offer for a date. He's a nice guy and we have a lot in common. I really like him but I'm taking things slowly because through past experiences, I've learned to have patients. So, for now, we are growing as friends.

Yeah I found someone, not on here though, as hard as I had tried.
Met him in real life. He is my man, best friend, and the world's best snuggle buddy. Our bond is unreal. We are as thick as thieves and we came to the realization that we're probably meant to be together long term so we're getting married April 19th.

I want to see wedding photo's and a success story thread! No honeymoon phase/period talk. Something tangible for the long haul setting the benchmark for strong relationships! Not forgetting oodles of relationship advice on how to keep that fire going.

My last relationship lasted 24 years. It ended because he passed away. I never thought I'd get over him.... But, I've taken my time and have managed to move forward and I met a wonderful man on here of all places. Things are going great and I look forward to each day.
