I've often wondered, Are there any Buddhists out there in the world who adhere to the Buddha's teachings but can't seem to shake their addiction to those cancer sticks? I recently started smoking again myself. I believe that side of me and my faith are two separate people. What is you're opinion and are there other Buddhists out there who smoke?

I'm not a Buddhist but I say, do the best you can and if you need to smoke then smoke, and be the best Buddhist you can be while smoking and don't worry about it. Smoking is a terrible monkey on one's back. Quitting smoking was the hardest thing I ever had to do and I try not to criticize those who are unable to throw it off. I've been there. I think I "quit" six times before I finally, really quit. Thank God I am over it now but I know that's not the case for everyone.

its to strive to be the best you can to yourself and others.
The stinky sticks are a hard to break. 20years over a pack a day. tried the gum, tried the patch, tried the pill.. nothing was working for me.
I recently started to vape and its been 10 weeks since my last stinky stick. I feel alot better and surprised at how keen my senses has become. although its not the perfect solution its far healthier then ciggs and perfect for those of us who enjoy the smoking aspect more over the substance addiction.
You will raise the energy to quit and move forward when you want to and ready to.
Keep your head up. stay strong

Perhaps if you evolve as a Buddhist, gradually overcoming physical desire, you will eventually lose the desire to smoke...

Just like anybody who practice any forms of spiritual belief we choose and pick which laws we want to follow ..the Christians pick which of the ten they can follow then go to church on Sundays and confess and do it all over come Monday ...so really it's up to you
