I tried it once years ago..it didn't last long and was kind of sticky..I just sprayed it in....anytime that I feel like using color without going permanent now I just use a bingo dauber...they have so many colors and it washes right out...in my profile picture I have streaks of red and blue made with daubers

I've never had the courage to do that but my neighbor's daughter does. She hasn't washed her hair in over a year now. Shes on some shampoo free kick and "washes" it with cocoa powder and is always putting koolaid in it. Its the nastiest mess you ever want to see! I don't see how she stands it honestly!

Update!!

Well, I had dyed my hair Burgundy bout 2wks ago, the length looked good but the top part had a lil too much red tint to it...So, few nites ago I mixed 1 packet of grape kool aid with just very little water & boiled bout 30 sec...then I added white conditioner to it to make it a paste & applied ALL over...left on bout 45min...It definately toned down the red in top part of hair but in length I couldn't tell much other than toned down a lil. Haven't really looked at it in the sun yet in length to tell if made difference.

Inside under flourescent(sp? lights it just looked toned down...no purple tint. I think it would be alot more noticeable on blonde or light hair. But my hair is a med brown naturally...I think if i put another burgundy I'll go Deep burgandy(it has more violet tones than red)than the regular burgundy. Hope that made sense...

It should gradually wash out..(kool aid) also red that you can add grape kool aid to your conditioner to town down any brassy look for blondes/or highlighted hair too...just leave on few min like reg conditioner. Make sure your conditioner is White tho so you'll get that purple tint to it
