Being from Ohio, and hearing more about the story, this is what I understand. Firstly, the had a contract made up, in the contract it was stated that the donor would be white! That is a contractual breach, plain and simple! If it was a white heterosexual couple; most of you would be saying, "that's sick to make the white couple raise a black baby". So I see no difference. They DO have legal recourse.
Secondly, they are from the Akron/Canton area. It is rather racist there, I'm from there! I have a biracial son, and would never move back there. I live in a highly diverse area now, being near a major university. Big difference!

I think both of the mothers are c*nts and the child is obviously gonna find out about it no matter where they run or try to hide. Besides, since the only actual problem they have with the sperm is the color obviously they should have just done it the old fashioned way and had a threesome with a white man. The problem is they don't want a black baby. It was not what they asked for, or paid for.
The reality of the situation is, when people adopt, they only adopt white babies, even from abroad in Russia or in Europe. Even though they have a lot of unwanted black babies here in America living in orphanage homes. People only want to adopt white babies.
It's a breach of contract, so they can sue the sperm bank & win. They will be compensated for their pain & sufferings. They will get money out of this law suit alright.
The sad truth is, there are a lot of black babies living in orphanage homes cos their mothers are crack head addicts. But people don't want these black babies. Nobody will adopt them. At the same time they will adopt babies all the way abroad from Russia, Europe & china.

Seeming that it was a breach of contract the parties should settle in or out of court, but don't fault the child for that. I would be upset myself if I was married and we were having a hard time and the child wasn't from a black donor. Luckily for me I don't have that problem. Still you can't really expect peoples expectations to change. Anyway if the child skin color is obviously the issue than give the child up for adoption or learn to live with and love that child.

So, they didn't abort the baby. They didn't euthanize it. They didn't put it up for adoption. They didn't leave it on a doorstep. They didn't toss it in a dumpster.
Instead, they kept the baby, apparently intend to raise it, and then did what pretty much any other American would do the moment they smelled blood: called in the lawyers and tried to sue for millions of dollars.
So, how many of us, really, would pass up an opportunity to sue a negligent big business for millions of dollars, just on principle?

There is nothing wrong with lesbians or gays or their use of the sperm bank. It's just this particular couple is painting a terrible image for gay and lesbian rights when it comes to having the ability to use sperm bank and suragacy ways procedures to have a child of their own. Does anybody actually think of the backlash that'll follow after all the dust has settled on this case? The child. How people are gonna treat the child after finding out about this. This couple is located in a city/town that is not friendly towards Blacks. The couple feels this is unfair to them and the child. And, it is. They have also reported that they have know knowledge of Black culture and how to incorporate the culture into this child's life.
The negligence of the sperm back has altered this couples life.
