If you're just an average user who just uses the computer to use the Internet and not much else, then I'd recommend a Chromebook. They're right in your budget and very reliable.

Yes, they're just not recommended for heavy gaming or intense photo editing. They're basically for Internet access and word processing.

Acer, Asus, Dell, or Samsung all make great Chromebooks. Really can't go wrong as long as you buy a newer model.

I really recommend checking out the forums of both slickdeals and fatwallet
There are people who nerd out on those sites all day long looking for deals, comparing best features, knowing all the nuances and have their finger on the trigger for the next advertisement.
i am actually surprised at how inexpensive some of the chromebooks are considering the power and possibilities.
There are so many things that make tomorrow exciting. One of them is what's up next with computers.

Toshiba from Best Buy. When I had brought my laptop for my Masters classes, I consider this to be a godsend having both WiFi, Microsoft Office 2013, and other useful features. I would get the I5 since it tends to last a lot longer. This also increases the chance of your computer not crashing and your operating system is sure to work for at least a good long time due to the modern tachnology not being exacerbated about the foreign environment like wind, water, etc. affecting it to it detriment.....gamer
