I believe that America's leaders are doing everything they feel they need to do at this time and have some surprises still in store.

I think the CIC has made a decision to put on a "air show" and let the next President decide what needs to be done.I don't see any way this group gets defeated and disassembled unless and until American ground forces are to some extent in the fight- and the handful of "advisors" we have in Iraq is cosmetic at best. This is a 10-15 year fight and BHO isn't going to be around as President. In my opinion hes running out the clock and knocking out minor targets and handfuls of ISIL fighters...It might look good to him and the media but its no solution .

Yes I have to agree I hate to say it but we're going to have to put boots on the ground to solve the problem we can't watch people get their head decapitated on national TV That's not the American Way I agree 100 percent I think the rules and the game is going to change once we switch presidents

Liberals call them ISIL, why is that?

They tried to ignore them, "Hope for the best." Putin should help with Asad(sp), he's loosing tons of money in oil revenues with ISIS sell crude at 40/bbl.

Justin---I agree. We are headed to a mid term election where the majority in the Senate could shift. If so several prominent Republicans (McCain and Graham for starters) are hell bent on us taking on a more aggressive role in this fight. The GOP already controls the House, so I think political pressure will continue to increase. So the biggest mistake ISIL could make would be to mount any kind of major terrorist attack in the US, UK or Germany. If they do Obama would be forced to act. Right now this "coalition" is not doing the kind of damage to them that is required but if they invite an all out war by the US and its (few) allies could unleash they will find it different than fighting the Iraqi Army. So they are going to continue to consolidate their caliphate, build their army and recruiting. In that way they will become an even more formidable threat somewhere down the road---Im saying unless we face a significant attack here in the Homeland this President isn't about to commit ground forces, he's made his political bones by claiming he got us out of war and wants that to be part of his legacy (such as it is). My opinion is that the next one will have to do so. JMHO

Well, 1400 years. Still , long time. Some day the middle east will be modernized, people will have access to knowledge outside of their local village and create more options. When that happens shit like this will minimize.

You may be correct, I hope. I'm afraid the more outside ideas and influence reach these zealots, the more the imams will push their flock toward jihad.

Islam is the second largest religion in the world next to Catholicism (but it is growing at a scary rate) .Unless and until the peaceful practitioners of this faith and their leaders denounce these barbarians and stand up for the faith this kind of high jacked radicalism will spread and for purposes that have little to do with the true tenants of the Koran. Its a twisted and brutal interpretation. We have the same thing here in the US among some Christians, its just not as violent (not yet). Forcing your beliefs and dogma on others some believe is their personal "God" bound duty to do at any cost! And wars are fought over it.!!! Sad.

Hasn't it always been the bastardization/twisting by evil persons of religion, That has caused almost all the wars between men and nations??

all religions scare the piss out of me. the crusades, inquisition, salem which trials, this f**king jihad, westboro baptists; all atrocities committed 'in the name of god' and then excused as 'god's will.' the planet would be a much safer place if all of these delusional dogmas would just cease to exist.

I agree with jrbogie and cowboy. I was raised Catholic-its a religion of obedience and fear of "god"...everything that gives pleasure will send you to hell! I don't practice it anymore, haven't for decades. I believe in a power greater than anything I understand these days..JMHO
