Hi friends! Hey at some point I'm needing to get a desktop computer. Iddon't do anything high end. I'm nota gamer.
This would be used for basic office typing etc, some creative design work in Publisher, some photo editing but not a lot.
I can't afford a nice computer. I'm looking for something decent that will last two to three years and that I can upgrade later-so something witg memory upgrade capability would be great. Suggestions on a computer processor etc?
I want a quiet running case medium-not slimline or compact case. I need basic speakers. I have a keyboard and mouse and I think my flat screen monitor still works.
Suggestions from the tech guys would be appreciated. Thanks!

You could try tigerdirect. Look under barebones. You will have to asemble it yourself (easier than you think) best prices are no drive no os. Buy a drive or ppl are throwing out computers these days. Scrap one. Burn a DVD with opensuze or your favorite flavor. Make sure it has the DVD drive or scrap it from another. You can build a good one from 120 to 180 with a bit of patience in a couple hours. I have done it many times. Let me know if you need help.It might take me a random time to respond. but I will.

You should just call your local PC repair shop. They usually have decent used or refurbished ones that will come with everything you need for cheap!
